...you were all pining away without me, right? I said RIGHT? ;)

Well, I got home yesterday, I have had a gadzillion hours of sleep and am still fuzzy...so thank god it's a Bank Holiday! Hopefully today I can pull myself together and catch up with all the posts and gossip of the last couple of weeks...and start working on my next trip too naturally - to help fight off these post Disney blues :(

All I can say is I had a total blast - lots of firsts for me. Boardwalk (Can't beat that location!) which was pretty cool - nice for a snoop like me to have a balcony to sit out on in the mornings, overlooking the BW sign at the front entrance and watching all the people come and go (and all the valets running back and forth to get the cars).

The new Princess Breakfast - also good, maybe not quite the same atmosphere as CRT, but really, it's worth doing and I'd be more than satisfied with it if Princess's was my thing.

E-nite - apart from my first ever trip when I skipped it, I've never been on-site when they've had an e-nite  I've rectified the situation now and had fun...I even rode an up and downy ride! Yup, you know how I am with those things too, but I rode Splash....TWICE :)

Ummmm, what else did I do....oh yeah, I did the 4 day Disney Wonder Cruise too didn't I? Must have slipped my mind, hehehe. Well, that was just FAB - and now, needless to say, I am trying to figure out when I can do my next one! The only downside was having to BE downstairs (still on the ship) at immigration at 6am on the last morning  I did however love my balcony - every morning when I woke up and every night before I went to sleep, I spent a good amount of time out there just looking out to sea (and looking for Dolphins  ). No luck with my Dolphin spotting but at the sailaway party, right at the pier as we were pulling away...I saw a Manatee! And you know how I am about seeing those critters too - I got a tad excited, LOL. So wonderful to see but, come ON little Manatee, no wonder you get chopped up by propellers...don't you see this very BIG ship (with equally big propellers) you are swimming beside? :(

Finally, I stayed at Villas at Wilderness Lodge for one night in a one bedroom - boy, those things are HUGE. Very nice and relaxing sitting in my personal hot tub it was too :) The balcony was totally secluded and private with just trees - it really was beautiful. Oh...and finally I ate at Teppanyaki and the Cape May Cafe for the first time this trip - both excellent places they were too - I highly recomment them both (I also revisited Le Cellier and 'Ohanas) Oh, and also the food on the cruise was awesome. As it is all you can eat, it makes it great to experiment on new foods you might not ordinarily be brave enough to try because if you don't like it...they just bring you something else! Pretty cool too when you just can't choose which appetizer to have, so you just order both, hehehe.

Ok, any questions about parks, resorts, restaurants, cruises...fire away!

Welcome Back:D

Did you stay in a studio or 1 bed at BWV? I love the balcony idea. Sounds like you had a fabulous time on the cruise. What did you think of Cape May Cafe??

Alas, I was only in a Studio at BWV (Standard View too, but I was more than happy with my view near the front entrance, better than looking over a pool IMO and 22 points cheaper). As I was only 1 night at VWL, I didn't feel so bad about splashing out on a 1 bedroom at twice the price. I did spend some time visiting a 1 bedroom at BW though - they had a BW view too (in the Wave building, directly above the DVC open house), so one night we watched Illuminations from their Balcony...cool banana's! One thing I noticed - they had two balcony's, one for each room, whereas our VWL only had one balcony - ours was a lock-off and there's wasn't, so I don't know if that's what made the difference  Anyhow, all I know is I wish I could afford a 1 bedroom ALL the time. If ever there was a reason to add-on, that would be it - it felt positively luxurious!

Cape May was great! I came away really impressed with it. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet, and specialises in fishy things (Clams being what it's famous for) ,Jumbo Shrimp, an awesome Clam Chowder, but there is plenty of other stuff to choose from if that's not your thing. Steak, pork, ribs etc, for the non-fishy people, and I recall I nice salad bar and interesting sides too. Oh...the desserts were very good too! YUM. And being the Beach club, a nice pastel decorated environment to eat it in. I'd say about the best buffet on WDW I've been to yet and I'll go back again sometime for sure :)

Welcome back :) !

I really enjoyed reading your potted TR :) ... sounds like a really wonderful holiday :)

Glad you had a great time Penny!

What was the weather like - you'd not been in August before had you? What was it like compared to other times of year?

:D Hi Penny - glad to have you back and hear you had a marvellous time. Sounds so fantastic - can't wait for the full trip reports:p

No Alison...never been in August before and I was a bit worried how I'd get on in the humidity, but I was fine!

There were a few humdinger storms which lasted a couple of hours here and there, but that was all. I gather though that the weather was pretty good for them...ie. mid 80's not mid 90's and not quite as humid as it usually is at that time of year, so with that and with the fact that I took it really easy - I had no problems at all. I'd go at that time again without worrying too much, but I still think October/November/December time is my ultimate favorite time (though to be honest...anytime is a good time for me :) )

Penny

I am sorry Penny, but I have no sympathy for people that go to WDW "Far Too Much" :)

Glad you had a great time, and no I am not at all jealous :(

sounds like you had an amazing time Penny:cool:
I love the sound of FW villas, lazing in a hot tub on the verandah eh?...mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Welcome home Penny. Sounds like you had a great time. We also like the standard view at BW - as you say, quite interesting. Have yet to stay at VWL but looking forward to that sometime in the future. :p

Oooop! Bad grammar there on my part I'm afraid. The hot tub is in the bathroom - I just liked to look out off of my verandah  It was still pretty cool though :)

Penny :)

Welcome Home, Penny :) :) :)
