for a 5 foot 3inches, 130lbs, 38 year old Mom??? I'll have my 8year old with me who doesn't walk too fast so I'm not concerned about speed of the scooter. We do rope drop-2ish, rest at the resort for 4 hours or so and back to the parks for a few hours at night…..
never had to rent a scooter before but plantar facilitis is acting up and getting the best of me!
thanks for any insight as this is all new to me!

I would get the slightly bigger scooter as it is more powerful - which means the battery will last all day! The smallest available only have a range of about 4½ miles and so are not really suitable.

I hired a Pride Elite 3 this year, and while the actual scooter was in a shocking condition (methinks the rental company could have done with getting some new stock), I never ran out of battery life and even managed slopes with ease.

The Go-Go Elite should have a range that is much larger than 4 1/2 miles. There is some risk of it not lasting a day, but we definitely have posters who've managed a day at WDW without recharging. It only goes 4.5mph for speed, however.

I am 4'10", 120 lbs and have rented the little GoGo twice. I think it was actually the GoGo Sport which lists 9 miles per charge - the Elite specs list 7.7 miles. I have used it from rope drop to park closing without any difficulty with battery life. I drive it at about average walking speed and turn it off when not in motion. I carry the charger in the parks but have not needed it. You are also less than half the weight limit and that extends distance too.

The small size makes parking it on the buses and getting around in crowds easier. The only down side for me is no headlight. I wear whatever bright flash things that are being sold in the parks so that I am more visible at night.

I like the GoGo enough that I am about to buy one to use at work - trying to decide between the Elite and the Ultra X

thank you. I think I'd be ok with the Go Go….we do not go for hours on end at the park and always take a break! The longest we've ever done in a row was 6hours and that was just one time. We are no commando park tourers!
So thanks everyone….trying to decide between apple and walker mobility now-price is the same but one delivers to Disney resort bell services and the other you need an appt.

I would def recommend the GoGo Elite. I never have an issue with the battery lasting. You can ask for the larger battery capacity one ( 17 amps ) . I just bought a GoGo elite traveller LX for home I like it so much. I am going to bring it with me as it's free to bring on plane and save myself the rental!

This is helpful!!! When you did rent in Disney, what company did you use? We are staying onsite at Port Orleans French Quarter and I have never used one in my life! Hope the learning curve is quick and easy

That's very interesting. The guy at one of my local mobility shops offered to lend me a scooter for free to take to Florida this year. I didn't know whether it would be taken on the flight for free - nor whether it would arrive at our destination in one piece!

The decider for me was there was no room in the car for both scooter and all our luggage! How do you manage?

FYI-we've used Walker for years and always had great service, some friends of ours just rented from them for the 1st time and Walker was $35 less on the GoGo and $20 less on the deluxe per week for them than Apple. Walker also does a meet-n-greet to go over scooter operationns and questions for first timers which they said helped them alot.
Hope that helps and have a great time.

I just bought a Go Go Elite. It is really small and maneuverable. The Go Go that I had rented before was the Sport (Buenavista Scooters) and it was easy too but has a longer wheelbase and turning radius. Either is easy but the smaller it is, the easier to park on the buses.

Hello!

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so walking around all day in the parks can be difficult. I own a Go Go Elite Traveller, and I LOVE IT. It's nice and small which makes maneuvering around the parks easy. I've never had a problem running out of battery running full speed all day at a theme park either. I also like how it comes apart in 4 pieces so it's easy to put in the trunk of a car and go. I'm similar height and weight (a little taller) so I'm sure it'll be fine for you. The only con is, like someone else mentioned, no light. What I usually do is break out my cell phone flashlight if it's really needed. Have fun!! :wave2:
