Go early or stay late?

On our trip last March we discovered that we maximized the numbers of rides later in the evening. Most people left after the fireworks so if it closed later we were able to walk onto ride, after ride with no wait. We probably rode more rides in that last hour and a half then we did all day.

at Fantasyland for example Peter Pan still had a long wait, but we walked on to Winnie the poo (which is always super busy) and we were finally able to do story time with Belle. -Which turned out to be an amazing experience.

at Animal Kingdom most people start leaving around 3-4 so we were able to ride Everest 5 times in a row with no waiting.

If you think your kids can handle it I would get to the park mid morning early afternoon and book your fast passes for when it's the busiest peak time during the day.

Both! We get there for RD and generally close down MK and Epcot. AK and HS we do RD then leave earlier to eat somewhere on property...usually, but we've shut both down before too. I guess we're what everyone here calls commandos though if you met my sweet, kind, polite mother who is the instigator of our travelling style you'd laugh.

If you want to see MSEP and Wishes then do RD as you won't be able to take advantage of the low waits then. If you do RD have a solid plan to optimize the early hours. We generally make FPs for headliners later in the day and hit up Peter Pan then all of fantasyland first thing as the waits are never longer than 15 min. (Unless you're there during holidays of course), then we make our way to the HM which will not be a long wait yet either. Of course there's more than one way to skin that poor kitty!

Our experience has been that you can get more done in the morning at RD than you can by staying late, especially during the summer. Most people don't want to wake up early on vacation, but many are willing to stay up late, especially when it's hot and days are long.
