My dd is turning 3 next week and we are having a Go Diego Go! party for her.

We have invited 5 3ish year-olds (some are still older 2's) and their older siblings (mostly 5/6 year olds). So...about 12 kids in all.

I have only scheduled the party for 1 1/2 hours and some parents will be staying. We have also hired a pre-teen from our church who knows most of the younger children who will be a "party assistant".

So...I need ideas for decorations, food, and activities/games that would work for both age groups (big sibs helping little sibs, etc).

Here's what I have planned far (not much):

Party Bag Decorating (orange bags with googly eyes that look like "rescue packs"- kids can put stickers all over them)

Dora Pinata Pull (Dora is leftover from my older dd5's 3rd birthday party and we might as well get more mileage out of the pinata since it is still sitting in the basement).

Hullabaloo- Maybe...do you think this is too old for the younger ones with sibs to help them?

Jungle Dancing (Freeze Dancing)

Cake/Ice Cream

Presents

............
I need a good craft and a few more games....

Refreshment ideas that are themed?

Favor ideas?

You could give out plastic animals as favors. Maybe decorate with paper vines. Just twist long strips of brown paper to make the vines, and tape on green paper leaves. Check out birthdaypartyideas.com for more ideas. I didn't see Diego on the main list, but there were some jungle/safari parties, and some Diego parties under Miscellaneous.

My son went to a Diego party last year. The invitations mentioned how the Bobo Brothers had stolen the #5 birthday candle. They did a treasure/jungle hunt for plastic animals. Each child got a mini compass, animal stickers, plastic animals in their goodie bag, etc. When the kids hit the pinata, the #5 candle fell out! The child that noticed it first got an extra prize.

For a craft you could have them make their own party hat. They could put animal stickers, etc. on a long strip of paper and then just staple it to make it a hat. I love Hullabaloo, such a great game, my 3 yr old plays. He loves it,but doesn't always follow the directions exactly as they say. As long as the older kids don't get frustrated if the younger ones don't follow the instructions perfectly than I think it would be fun. Little ones love to dance so any dance music would be fun. You could also get the Hokey Pokey or other songs they can participate in. It's not really Diego-related, but all of my kids love a good game of "keep the balloon up in the air" ! Oh yeah, I'm real high-tech can't ya tell?!! LOL!:lmao:

I have to admit I don't know much about diego since DD is older but for a craft my print master program has animal mask that you could cut out and have the kids color. Orintal Trading has cute fun foam animal mask too.

For food you could make cheese quesadillias, Mexican flag jello ( layer red jello then whip cream then green jello).

The older kids might like taquitos.

How about mexican hat dance musical hats (like musical chairs).

You can also make treasure stones and hide them.

Oh How about pin the tail on the Zebra !

Google Animal Mask and it will give you a link to some you can print
