Go Before Thanksgiving?

We have been offered a condo off property the friday before thanksgiving to the firday after. My question is are we crazy to go then? Our kids are 10, 8, and 6, 6. Our condo is FREE- so we would pay for gas to drive, food and park tickets. Parking at parks?? We would do 3/5 days at parks but not sure if we should even try. WE won't have to hurry- but will it be super crowded?

What else could we do around that wouldn't cost alot of $$$ ? Our place would have several pools too!!

Also for thanksgiving day should we even attempt the parks and a meal or character dining that day?? Is it really crowded that day?

Any suggestions would be great!!

My DH and I actually flew into Orlando two times on Thanksgiving day. Our last trip, instead of going to the parks, we bar hopped around all of the resorts and ended up at California Grill for "Thanksgiving Dinner". It was a great day! Though we did not go to the parks on Thanksgiving day, we were there days after and the crowds were very low. This is our fav week to go because it's so slow and the Christmas decorations are going up. Such a magical time!

The year we went for Thanksgiving, we were there Saturday to Saturday. The crowds really don't start pouring in until the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We went to MK on Thanksgiving Day for early entry and left by 10 am. It was packed. We spent the rest of the day at AK. We had an awesome time! It's fun to see the Christmas decorations as they spread throughout the parks and resorts. The weather will be hit and miss, so plan to bring layers. We wore hats, coats, and gloves one day and were swimming the next. Thanksgiving was probably more fun for us than our Christmas trips.
