Hi gnomies,

I echo the Happy Mother's Day wishes! It's a tough job... I don't know how you do it! I have my hands full with my dog!!

So I'm not sure if it's catching up on my DIS time, reading about other peoples' vacations or just wanting to check out of my reality for a few days but I am DYING for a vacation. I don't know how I will wait until October!

Do you ever get like that? Where you just want to run away from it all and pretend certain realities (or perhaps every reality ) don't exist? It's just a fantasy, of course, but I'm having fun with it. If only....

Hope you all have a good Sunday. WHY do the weekends go by so quickly??

Oh yes, C. I know what you are talking about VERY well.

Julez- I meant to say welcome back. How does one interpret "interesting" in the gnomie dictionary? I hope it was a fun trip!

Are any of you avid pin traders? I came across some pins we got doing the backstage safari several years back and am wondering if the value is significant enough that I should put them on ebay? Is there anywhere to go to figure that out?

I'm in the process of cleaning out my basement and am thinking there is tons I could put on ebay if only I have the patience and diligence to keep up with it. Or I guess I could do a yard sale...

I'd search for the pin you have on ebay and see what the going rate is for it. I don't know if there is a pin value website or not.

Ebay is a lot of work but it can pay off. I think the yard sale might be a bit easier but maybe not make quite as much money...?? Who knows. Either of them are worth a shot!

Just came home from my mom's house and I am stuffed! She's in a mood. She's freaking out because she and her boyfriend are heading to Winnipeg on Tuesday so he can get his surgery done. She's afraid of being in the airport without me! :rofl: Dreadful...we live in one of the medical capitols of our country and he has to fly out of province to have surgery! Free health care isn't all it's cracked up to be...our wait times are redonkulous!

Hi LL! He's having knee surgery, nothing super-serious. But he's been off work (he's in his mid-fifties), and he can't afford to retire. Worker's comp. is cutting him off at the end of this month and he can't get in for surgery here until October! So, his union rep. from work, worked with his insurance and doctors and they are sending him to Winnipeg. And my mum so she can take care of him! It's just absurd...London has some of the most amazing hospitals in Canada and he has to go to Winnipeg?! But this way he'll be able to go back to work and have his regular income back...

The kicker is, the flight from here to there is longer than the flight to Orlando!

By the way, I'm sure I'll talk to you before then (but just in case) have a great first day at school!

I'm glad it's nothing serious Stace! Ridiculous though that he has to fly to have his surgery. I hope everything goes well with it!

C, my big goal for the summer is to clean out the garage and all the closets. While I could probably put a lot of stuff on ebay or do a yard sale, I am just going to donate it all to Goodwill. I don't have the patience for the other things.

Stace, what a pain about your boyfriend having to go all the way to Winnipeg for his surgery.

Well, I had a nice weekend until I woke up in the middle of the night with some sort of stomach virus. Shudder, shudder. I feel rotten after only four hours of sleep, but I dragged myself to work because tonight is 5th Grade Parent Night and I am already taking tomorrow off to take Chelsea to the orthodontist and the dermatologist. I am so ready for school to be out.

Our weekend was great!!! I have great pics of Tom and Megs from the Father/Daughter that I will post up here today sometime. I had a great Mother's Day yesterday.....literally got to spend the whole day with Tom and Megan.....got taken out for brunch and dinner.....got the MOST beautiful art project from Megan from school---I'll try to take a picture of it to show you.....and then got to hang out last night with them watching some old family videos. It made me so sentimental and reminded me so much of just HOW cute Megan was as a baby, and just how much she has grown!!!!!!!!!!! What a day!

Good Afternoon Gnomies! It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood! I have to tell you all how proud I am of Phillip! He now has his Masters in Ministry and this weekend he will be ordained. I will be a pastor's wife Monday morning, that sounds so weird to say, but we have worked a really long time to get to this point so we are both very excited!! My inlaws and my parents will be here Thursday afternoon for the festivities!!

Jen...what a wonderful way to celebrate Mother's Day! I look forward to pictures!!!!

Jackie...oh I'm so sorry you are not feeling well!!! I hope you get over this virus quickly and are back on your feet! YAY for book on CD that is the best!!! I'm thinking this Friday will call for a movie day! We're having a very fun week in my classroom...next two days and internet assignment, an outdoor activity, and a movie and it's all within the curriculum SCORE LOL!!!!
So jealous about how soon you will be done...no flaunting it at me now LOL!!!

Soooo...today I was sposed to be back @ work but I've got a wicked stomach bug goin on and there was no way that was happening. Im not feelingbetter either so I dont know abt tomoro.....!
