Gnomies Gone Wild

Hi, Gnomies! A crazy week here! I can't believe it is only Thursday!

LL, oh I can't wait for the Christmas book! Yeay! Our book club just chose A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick for our next book. It sounds really good -- I will let you know once I read it!

I'm really looking forward to the Christmas one too. Didn't the book with Charlotte touch on that 12 days of Christmas celebration...??

I finished Blood Lily last night and it was excellent. I just feel like there is never enough about Colin and Eloise!

Morning Gnomies!

Today is my Friday. :banana::banana:

Gnomies,

This week has been crap. I can't wait for it to be over. Right now I want to sleep all weekend long. Do any of you have any fun plans for the weekend? Maybe we can find some time for a chat. I promise to try to stay awake for it. ;)

I might be up for a chat....just let me know what night!

Now that you mention it, I do think the Charlotte book was set around Christmastime -- I definitely feel the same way about Eloise and Colin -- never enough about them!

How did you score a three-day weekend?

I am so sorry, C. This week has just been too long for me -- I literally burst into tears this morning when my alarm went off and I realized I still had two entire workdays to get through.

Hi Gnomies! I hope you all had an ok Thursday! It was a very long day ato work, but thankfully home has become a peaceful place again! I just finished helping my cousin choose his classes for eleventh grade - it made me realize how much more I wish I'd learned! I don't want to go back to school, I just want to learn for fun! Some more history courses would be interesting!

Unfortunately, I have way too much experience with these. Let me make a couple suggestions

1. It may just be a sinus thing. Take sudafed for a couple days and see if that helps

2. Pay attention to your eating/dizzy patterns. It may be a blood sugar issue. If you notice a pattern, talk to a doctor about it

3. You might try meclazine (non-drowsy dramamine or bonine) Lots of people have good luck with these

4. If they get progressively worse, go talk to your doctor. About 2 years ago I started having dizziness. I went through all of the above with no luck. I saw my regular doctor but he didn't help much. Luckily I talked with the nurse at my school who encouraged me to see an ENT. By the time I got to this point, my dizzy spells had grown to 30 hour events 2-3 times/week in which I could barely stand up. I was finally diagnosed with Menieres disease, an inner ear condition and got proper medication and I rarely have issues anymore

Oh, one more thing, stress tends to make these conditions worse so you may just be having an increased response to things going on in your life right now.

Happy hump day gnomies!

Thanks for all your info Katie! My mother's friend seems to think it might be a blood pressure issue or possibly a thyroid problem. Both of those run in the family and apparently are stress-related. I wonder if something has been triggered? I'm thinking Thyroid....I'm so tired, stressed, and hungry! All I want to eat is sweets! I'll be spending some time with the doctor. But I'll write down your thoughts to and see what I find out!:goodvibes

CP - I ended up taking a personal day tomorrow. We still have so much to do for the apartment and my parents are coming down Saturday to help us do some finishing things. So I need tomorrow to get the stuff done before the finishing stuff. Yeah...that was confusing.

Yeah, I thought Charlotte's book was around Christmas too. I liked how she made an appearance in this last book.

Guess what Gnomies? Tomorrow marks SIX MONTHS since my surgery! Can you believe it? I have an appointment tomorrow and I can't wait to see what my weight loss is at.

Hurray for six months! I can't believe it! Time has really flown!

I wish I had tomorrow off -- I am over this week -- which I know I said last week, too. I think I need spring. I was in a great mood when it was 65 last weekend, but as soon as it turned cold again, I was all cranky again. Although it might have had just as much to do with it being Monday.

I am halfway through A Reliable Wife -- it's beautifully written but a little weird. I will reserve final judgment until I finish it.

Busy day off for me here....Rachael had ballet after school and then we decided to go out to dinner. Im workin on 20 loads of laundry or sumthin like that.

Woot! Woot! for ur appt 2moro LL! I cant wait to hear the news- its so inspiring! Im REALLY battling bad habits these days with pop and junk food. I really wish I had an elliptical or treadmill...

Good luck to u all that Friday is fast and over with quick! I am going in for a half day to stock rooms and clean instruments. Then Im out until Monday! YAY!

L8R CHICAS!

What is A Reliable Wife about? I have seen it on Amazon and in the book store but I'm not sure about it.

I'm reading The Postmistress right now. I'm about 40 pages in or so and I'm not quite sure. I was hoping it would be good like the Potato Peel Society one, I don't have the energy to look up the full title right now. :rotfl:

Julez -- thanks about my appointment. I think my biggest challenge is exercise right now but I am getting better about it.

LL, well, it is described as a gothic suspense/mystery novel set in 1907. A woman answers an advertisement for a wife and moves to Wisconsin. It's hard to describe exactly except so far I have done this a number of times. I can't quite see where it is headed. It could end up being really, really good or it could end up being another Lace Reader. Hopefully The Postmistress will get better.

Julez, have a fun half day tomorrow!

I'm glad it's not just me! I haven't done anything since I hurt my knee last week despite the fact that it only bothered me for 2 days :sad2:

I can't believe it's been 6 months already! Can't wait to hear the progress :thumbsup2 Have a good day off, even if it is for a different type of work

I have to stop at school today and register Daniel for Kindergarten then am taking the boys to Des Moines because Patrick has an appointment. I have to pick up something for Greg and I'm sure we will go someplace of the boys choosing for lunch. They were invited to a friends house after school and for the evening so I think Greg and I will go out on a DATE!! The romantics that we are, it will probably involve dinner and a visit to the furniture store...woo hoo!

I'm bringing The Postmistress for the waiting room today, so hopefully I'll get into it more. I will have to look for A Reliable Wife.

Katie, I'm awful with exercise...the littlest thing will make me say "oh, not tonight!" :rotfl2:

I would love to go to the furniture store...I'm dying for a new couch. Mine is killing me when I sit in it. I don't want to bring it to my pretty apartment!

Enjoy your day off with Marc!! YAY for 6 months I cannot wait to hear about your success at your appointment today!

Eating junk and exercising are the two hardest parts for me!! However I have worked out twice this week with plans to workout again tonight! I'm so excited, but its the weekends that derail me!

I too would be up for a chat just need to know when!!!

Have a great Friday gnomies!

yay 4 you C!! Weekend just means going to workin the snow for me...sorry I'm not more excited:rolleyes:

LL and Jen... Your TR was terrific! Since i never posted onit once..I thought I'd let you knowthat I did read it (using the links...horray for the links lol!) and enjoyed it very much!

I have nothing else interesting to share.... which is why I haven't said much lately. I'm in a total Winter Blues frame of mind... can't get out of the house practically at all today. Where we shovelled out the sidewalk (and its blowing back shut again as we speak) the snow is piled up to just below my chest. The people across the street parked in front of my house in the area that Tom had cleaned out for me (I park there year round) so I'm parked half a block away...cause I can't get near a curb. I hate this...I'm so over winter! And the stupid farmer's almanac (which has been right so far this winter) says march will be WORSE!!

:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

Hey ladies! Yay for Friday! I got off @ 12:45... had lunch with my bestie, picked up my step-son from school, he and I went "junk-store" shopping (goodwill, sal. army....lol) and came home and did a bunch of laundry and just woke up from a little nap! Not too shabby and I can't wait for tommorow- sleepin' late... grocery shoppin, takin' the girl to my parents and goin' out with a fun group of peeps and hubster!

Whatcha all got planned? How was your appt. LL?

And after like... 6 mos... I FINALLY finished CP's lil food/wine TR and I LOVED seeing so many gnomies in one picture! Paula, C, JenO, and CP!!
