Gnomies Gone Wild

Totally fun. LL and I will do our best to try to make it romantic for you and Charles too. :rotfl::lmao::laughing:

:thumbsup2

Good Morning All!!!

To join in with LL and CP!! Phillip and I are so in love that we take seperate vacations near our anniversary LOL!!! Two years in a row we'll be seperated on "my" anniversary LOL!!! But hey, we're seven years and counting must be doing something right LOL!!!!! :lovestruc I'm actually looking forward to next week when he's gone because then the house is all mine to go into crazy Disney mode LOL!!!!! I think he's glad he'll be gone to miss out on my crazy Disney mode LOL!!!

Hi, Jen! Where is Phillip headed off to next week?

:cheer2: for crazy Disney mode!! I think that is what my weekend will feature too!

Mine, too!

Ok... off to work now.

:( What is sad is I just looked at the clock and realized I still have 8-and-a-half hours of work left. Yick, yick, yick!

LOL...a trip to visit the site of the famous witch trials and DIS meets...that says romance all over it LOL :rotfl2:

I thought so. :rotfl: After all, one of Charles' terms of endearment for me is Witch Woman so what better place to go then Salem? :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: (Just kidding, but I bet he thinks that sometimes.)

Oh yes. Marc is a loud chewer as well. It drives me absolutely crazy.

::yes::

Okay, I just found another book that I may need to read -- have you heard about The Lace Reader? Another book about magic and the supernatural set in Salem in modern times. I am going to put it on hold at our library. Apparently I am becoming obsessed with the place and its history.

hey girls. So nice to read all the chatter. Everyones been busy on their TR's and PTR's it's been a little quiet over here.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with an unromantic marriage! :lmao: When we did our pre-marriage retreat at church, one of the couples who talked gave their top ten tips. One of them was "let the romance die, it's going to anyways" It made me sad at the time but 13 years later, it just makes me laugh!

No good job prospects today but I did get called to sub one day next week already so at least that's something!

I just started reading Deliverance Dane. I'm already liking it!

I just read some good books though not about Salem Witch Trials but set in MA, one is the The Widow's War and the sequel is Bound by Sally Gunning. It's set in 1761 but it's REALLY good.

I'm going to have to get The Lace Reader. I just got another Borders gift card from a friend so I can buy more books.

My name is Leslie, and I have a book problem. :wave2:

Hi, Katie!!! I am in the mood to chatter today (as opposed to doing real work ;)). Subbing is something!

Off to look those two up -- thanks!

If Charles only knew how lucky he could be if he just learned how to unload our dishwasher...:rolleyes1:lmao:

:lmao: about the dishwasher. I really can't complain, Marc does A LOT around the house. I justify it by saying he has an extra day off than I do.

Charles does the yard work which I abhor, but he seems to think that means he doesn't have to do much inside the house. :headache:

Pffft. I hate hate hate hate yard work. :headache: When Marc & I moved in together, I had two days off during the week and he had been picking up a lot of extra shifts at work. So I would do all the house cleaning and cooking. Then when I finally found a job in MA, I worked 5 days during the week plus I had the longer commute so he shifted doing more of the housework. I like the way it worked out. I don't cook anymore and he does a lot of the house stuff. I help out and keep us organized plus I have the fun job of our finances. :headache:

That sounds like the perfect division of duties! :thumbsup2

It works for us. I know it will change once we have kids so it can stay that way until then. My mom always tries to make me feel guilty that Marc does all the cooking but he is so much better at it! She's just jealous.

I'm off to get my haircut and highlighted. Marc's aunt is going to do it for me for $30 total. YIPEE. I look like a shaggy dog right now. :rotfl2:

::yes::

LOL...love your term of endearment...that just cracked me up!! I'm so glad I read this during my planning period instead of while students were in here...might not have gone over as well!!! LOL!!!!!!

OOH all these books...that's it I'm reading something when I get back from Disney...really I am LOL!! Maybe I should start with Twilight (yes don't stone me I still haven't read it yet LOL)

LOL :rotfl2: I don't mind doing dishes...but when Phillip vacuums that warms my heart to no end!!! Of course if he offers to cook dinner that also is a very nice romantical moment for us LOL!!!! Other than that romance is watching NCIS or CSI NY together on the couch LOL!!!! Although, he does have his really romantic moments when he'll send an email to school to tell me he loves me or opens the door for me...so some of that romance is still there LOL!!!!

Katie...I hope you get more and more jobs substituting and I'm still praying for a job to fall into your lap!!! Good Luck!!!!!

We are a chit chatting bunch today!!!! YAY!!!

If Charles only knew how lucky he could be if he just learned how to unload our dishwasher...:rolleyes1:lmao:

:rotfl2: Greg is always "reminding" the boys to pick up their dishes but I don't think he realizes how much he leaves laying around the house! When he does pick up, he tends to pile them in the sink which drives me nuts! When he does, I can't get to the sink and the dishwasher is RIGHT NEXT to it!! How much harder is it to just put them in there!!!!

Charles does the yard work which I abhor, but he seems to think that means he doesn't have to do much inside the house. :headache:

Greg and I are divided that way too which I really like. We have lived in our house 9 years and I have never mowed or snowblowed (given that we live on a corner, that's a BIG job!) We were going to hold off on a snowblower until the end of our first winter hoping to find a good deal but after the first foot deep snow of that season (yes, there was more than 1), we gave in and paid full price

The only thing I really hate for inside work is bathrooms, especially with 2 young boys in the house! YUCK!

I don't cook anymore and he does a lot of the house stuff. I help out and keep us organized plus I have the fun job of our finances. :headache:

Cooking is one thing I hate doing on a daily basis! Both of my brothers are the cooks in their families and I wonder why I don't have the same interest they do.

I have been in charge of the finances for a long time but this summer Greg decided he wanted a better idea of where we were. I should have made him do it a long time ago because he suddenly started saying things like "maybe we shouldn't have bought the jeep" (um, yeah...that's what I said at the time but he couldn't stand the thought of me getting a new car and him having to drive he used one that was still in perfectly good shape!)

Katie...I hope you get more and more jobs substituting and I'm still praying for a job to fall into your lap!!! Good Luck!!!!!

Thanks Jen! did Nobby arrive?

See Phillip and I split up the yard work, I don't mind mowing so we take turns...although the jungle that is now my backyard is a little frightening it might be his turn to mow it LOL!!!

I'm also the one who is primarily in charge of finances which is a good thing because I'm more OCD about that then Phillip is...so it works out!!

Yes..Nobby is here!!! He arrived and is making himself at home...he even started reading some of my Disney books to prepare for his trip and I have heard that P has even bought him a costume for MNSSHP!! I have a few pics up on the PTR if you are interested LOL!

OK girls, I'm enlisting your help. I need to plan the menu for Daniel's picnic birthday party this weekend and am feeling stumped. I don't really want to just do turkey/ham and cheese sandwiches but also don't want to hassle with grilling at the park. any suggestions? Keep in mind it needs to be kid friendly but still tasty to the adults.

I asked the boys this morning what they wanted and Patrick said cheetos and cake. Daniel said he wanted sandwiches and when I asked what kind, Patrick said "candy sandwiches". That was pretty much the end of their help!!

What about chicken salad? We make it with cranberries and walnuts. Or we also make it with grapes and apples. SO YUMMY. It feels all fancy pants too. :rotfl2: You could leave the kids plain if they didn't want to eat the other stuff. :confused3

Oh Jen! I can't find my Twilight audio CD. I looked all over the place. I wanted to send it to you for your drive to Florida and I have failed. :sad2:

So my AFLAC short term disability claim was FINALLY approved today. I've been without a paycheck this whole time. I have been calling pretty much everyday, dealing with work, AFLAC and the doctor trying to get all the correct forms in after they denied it the first time. But finally I reached a very sympathetic rep and she was able to get her supervisor to approve the claim. :worship:

Oh and I applied at the Disney Store for seasonal help! I am so excited. I hope I get the job. I would love to work at my happy place.

For all of your Snow White fans...tons of Snow White things in the Disney Store. The cutest little playsets and costumes and other things.

If Charles only knew how lucky he could be if he just learned how to unload our dishwasher...:rolleyes1:lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::lmao: I'd be happy to pull him aside when we meet in a few weeks and clue him in! ;)

Katie - yeah for subbing next week. More will come, I'm sure of it. I like LL's suggestion of chicken salad. Sadly I'm largely useless in the kitchen dept.

LL- hurrah for disability being approved and for applying for seasonal at the Disney store. Keep us posted!!

Jen- off to check out your PTR. Can't believe you mow the lawn!

I got my haircut today in preparation of the trip...and because I couldn't stand the mop on my head! I don't have a real pic.... but I do have a 'fake'one. I used dailymakeover.com and tried about 500 different hairstyles on me....this is what I picked....

please disregard the wierd color.... I didn't color it gray...it's doing that all by itself:rotfl2: I must say, I was really excited cause it looked EXACTLY like this whenmy stylisy was done! I'mvery happy with the result...the question now is will I be able tostyle it myself:confused3

on the Book chatter... i bought Dan Brown's new book...the Lost Symbol. it's his followup tothe DaVinci Code... but it has NOTHING to do with daVinci. It's set in Washington DC with the Masons. I can't wait to start it!

Ellie's birthday is Thursday...she'll be 11. We are having a party this weekend too.... but it's a sleepover...not a picnic! I'm making Pizza and having a 'build your own ice cream sundae bar'.....after which I plan to hide in my craft room lol!!

Have a great Wednesday! I have a TON to get done before Saturday...and tomorrow is my only day off to do it!

bye!

Good morning, Gnomies!

LL, how did your hair appointment go yesterday?

Jen, I was up early this morning, too, but I managed to fall back asleep -- thank goodness!

Katie, I am not good at picnic food, but I like LL's idea of chicken salad -- you could also do a big fruit salad of some sort.

Paula, I LOVE the new haircut! So cute! After Chelsea's slumber party this summer, I twitch even thinking about a bunch of giggling girls spending the night!

Christine, good morning! We are on Wednesday of our week! Woo hoo!
