Can someone please explain to me what's so special about gmail? It seems it's what's being recommended for signing up for offers on CashDuck, but I don't understand why it's any better than using different email addresses from yahoo, hotmail, or any other free email service. Am I missing something?

Do those of you who are using it really use a different email address for every single offer? If so, that seems like an awful lot of unique email adresses and a pain to create. I have different yahoo addresses for each reward site I use (1 for Sunshine, 1 for Inbox Dollars, etc.) Is that not sufficient for CashDuck?

Thanks for your help clearing up my confusion. I'm about to start doing some offers on CashDuck and just want to make sure I'm doing it right from the beginning.

Gmail isn't any more special than any other free email addy IMO. I just use it b/c it's convenient.

I have 4 seperate gmail accounts. I use different ones for different sites b/c it's hard for me to keep everything straight if I don't. But if you're good at doing that, there really is no specific reason you have to have multiple addresses.

I don't use a different email for every offer but if I notice I"m not getting credited for a larger % of offers I'm completing I'll set up a variation in gmail and start using it for a while on the reward sites so that I can get credit again. I usually change every couple of weeks unless its something where the site mentions you need a unique email address then I'll change to a variation of my gmail to do that offer.

I use gmail because you can use the periods in the address to make it be a different address. For example on cashduck there are 15 or so offers for my insider deals that are free you can't use the same email and get credit for all of them you need to use a different address. Say your email is disneyfan@gmail.com so you would use the following for each offer:
1) disneyfan@gmail.com
2) dis.neyfan@gmail.com
3) d.isneyfan@gmail.com
and so on that allows you to use the same email address technically for each offer but the offer thinks they are different so you don't have to keep creating different ones through hotmail, yahoo and remember them all

GMail was originally by invitation only. So because only certain people could get it, this itrigued many people and everyone wanted it. In terms of that this is a reason why gmail became so popular. I just use my yahoo addresses for things I sign up for :)

This may be a silly question, but by putting the periods in the e-mail address, does the e-mail still go to the original e-mail address? I'm asking in case there is an e-mail we need to click on for confirmation of an offer. Thanks!:goodvibes

Yes! I am getting the emails no problem. Gmail recognizes it as the same email address but the offers do not!

Well I can definitely see how that would be a benefit rather than having to monitor multiple email boxes.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I think I get it now.
