GMail Dots Question

That is correct. QR surveys done over the weekend (fri, sat and sun) don't credit until Monday night I believe.

Did you use the new address for all the offers? Same address, or did you change it up w/ dots for each offer.

Don't forget, at SR, Tricia is away, so if it is a manual credit there may be a little longer lag in credit posting.

What 5 offers did you do? Just so I can compare / have an idea to what I get.

Did you check your virus protection settings? Some have a setting to auto clear cookies. I know McAffee for sure has it, don't know about others. I think the new AdAware may have that option also.

Okay, here's my latest--talked w/Dmitry again for a long time last night.

We are both stumped. I finally got tired of trying to change everything in IE, so I just put everything back to the defaults.

I signed up for a really long e-mail name at gmail, and I started using it last night by adding a dot and moving it around for each offer I did.

First, I went to SR (I use IE for SR). I did 8 offers, but not all at once. I did (for example) an MID offer and a GTL offer....never doing more than one company's offers at once. Once they credited it, I would try another. Does that make sense?

Guess what? 7 out of 8 credited! Yahoo!

So, then, I went over to QR. Dmitry has always said it's better to use FF for QR, so I keep a FF browser window open for just them. Again, I kept going w/the dot method (not repeating any previous dot versions--I keep an Excel spreadsheet and one thing I keep track of is what e-mail I used on what site/offer).

I did a daily survey (which SHOULD credit tomorrow, if I'm lucky), the Coupon Bar (my 2nd try) (it CREDITED), AutoSport catalog (2nd try, and it still didn't credit), Country Door catalog (2nd try, and it still didn't credit), Free Trade Magazines (how many of you have done this offer?) (it never credits), Nature Hills catalog (it DID CREDIT), Perfume Emporium (2nd try, and it still hasn't credited), and thissiteisforreal.com (which hasn't credited yet either).

So, for today at QR--7 offers and only 2 credited.

Now, Dmitry said that SR & QR use the same system, so it's not a matter of one site working better w/my computer over another, but honestly--I'm beginning to think otherwise.

Because why is everything crediting at SR and not here?

..and as far as SR, I'm assuming the $.01 deal for putting your referral number in your profile hasn't credited because Tricia is gone.

Oh yeah--someone asked me this, and I asked Dmitry last night--advertisers track by e-mail address, ip address, and subid (userid)! So, my question is this--if they aren't basing it solely on the e-mail address you put in and your IP address is a factor......

How can we go back and try those noncrediting offers? Won't our IP address be the same and show up on their side?

Here is a quote from Dmitry:

Advertisers track by IP, Email and subid (your member id). The way this works is like this: An advertiser gives us a link to promote which has Quickrewards ID in it. When you click on our link a cookie stores the information and sends it over to the advertiser. Then the advertiser knows that you clicked on our link and checks to see if you signed up or just clicked. If you signed up, they fire back a pixel which shows up in our reports with your data to credit you. The problem is that something is causing the cookies from QR or SR to never reach the advertiser. Something is blocking it.

Oops! I forgot this:

1. Where in Ad-aware does it deal w/cookies? I couldn't find anything last night when I was going thru it.

2. Here's what credited last night for me at SR: (a) Avon Mascara, (b) Aveeno Stress Relief, (c) Global Survey Group, (d) Look-You-Love Sweepstakes, (e) Yankee Candle Spring, (f) Publishers Clearning House, (g) Revlon Bare It

I'm sorry if I missed this, I scanned back thru but didn't see. Have you run your anti-virus and spyware programs to make sure there isn't anything diverting? I run avg free for virus; adaware, spybot and avg anti-spy for spyware.

I also clear history, clear temp internet files, clear cookies (from my browser), even when I run the other programs.

I only run the anti-programs once a week, usually Saturday.

I only clear cookies etc about 1 or 2 times a week, unless there is some kind of special thing going on. I know this is contrary to what alot of people say to do, but it works for me.

I only do SR though, and IB$ for the email clicks, and get about 99% of credits.

Also, are you making sure to click on any email confirmations?

The things Dmitri said to use firefox, did you try in IE just to see if it would work?

Have you installed any new browser toolbars? I saw something about a smiley download, that makes me nervous. Anything you have to download makes me nervous :lmao:

I'm just trying to think of anything and everything, maybe something will stick!

(PS...sorry if any of my questions were already discussed/answered, just writing off the top of my head...)

It sounds to me like the offers you tried on SR this time may just be better crediting offers than the ones you tried on QR. Unfortunately, none of us get credit for EVERY offer. Some just won't credit no matter what you try but you should be getting credit for more than not.

I can tell you that the autosport catalog and the countrydoor catalog ones haven't credited for me either.

Forgot to add that the smiley thing that cglaura mentioned makes me nervous too. I do remember someone posting a while back about major spyware being attached to it. I dont' know if that is still the case or not.

I don't do any download type things - especially not for 25-50 cents. It just isn't worth taking the chance.

I run AVG free, Spybot, Ad-Adaware too, but I don't know about AVG anti-spyware. I haven't cleared temp. internet files, only cookies.

I think my AVG is set up to run every morning while I'm gone at work.

I try to clear my cookies at the begining of each "session" I'm going to be trying offers. Sometimes, I may clear them again, if all the offers have already credited.

Dmitry told me try FF because IE wasn't working at all! I get a lot of "restricted sites" and "cookies must be enabled" messages on IE for some reason, even though I try and change my settings.

The only new browser toolbars that I "downloaded" were the smiley one and the coupon bar one. Both (knock on wood) work fine and don't seem to come with any spyware, etc. I just turn them off in the View menu so I don't have to look at them.

I know nothing credits 100% of the time, but I was at the point where NOTHING on QR was crediting, not even the Paid Trial offers, and if I'm putting in the time to do them and keep track of the time, I want to get paid for them!

Thanks for letting me know about the catalogs. Glad it's not me alone!

I'd uninstall the coupon bar and the smiley thing.

I think I remember Tricia posting something about the coupon bar type things diverting cookies.

You can remove by going here: Start...Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs...

I don't have the new Ad Aware, I run SE Personal 1.06

There is something called this in the new versions:
TrackSweep - Control privacy by erasing tracks left behind while surfing the Web on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera, with one easy click.

I think there may be an auto feature to that for every time you close a browser.

I don't have the new version of AD Aware either. Just the personal one. That's probably why I couldn't find that Track Sweeping thing either! :goodvibes

I'll let you guys know what I find out. One of the programmers e-mailed me last night. I really don't have much time this morning to deal with surveys since I've been answering e-mails.....

Hopefully, he will have something for me! Thanks!

Deb
