So I've had my gmail account for awhile now, and I'm not a newbie to technology (although it often makes me crazy!) but I just don't get this!!!:confused3

Thought I'd love it since people said it's so reliable and better than hotmail.

Well, its making me crazy! :headache:

When continuing a conversation with several replies, who knows where they end up! IOW they often come out on the top of the series of replies, or the bottom.:confused3

And forget about sending attachments. Especiallly more than one. They too end up all over the place within the email, OR not at all!!!

Ok am I just doing something wrong, or do you find this too? And if you experience it too, what can you do about it? (besides not using it! :lmao:)

Serious question here though!!

:confused3

I don't like the way gmail works either. The only place I use it is on my Android phone - we had to create a gmail account to buy apps from the Android market. I also find that after I read an email, it 'saves' the conversation and I can't find it after that. I look and look, and it tells me there's nothing there. I have to go to googlemail.com, sign in, and touch 'all mail' to find it again. I thought it was just me, or the way it syncs with my phone. In any event, I have found it to be a huge PITA!

I use gmail... but I do see a problem that I didn't have when I first started using it. When a reply comes in from a threaded conversation, the reply isn't bolded anymore like a new email that come in is. I really thought I recall when I first started using gmail that if a new reply from a thread came in, the email was bolded like a new one again. That's the only thing that bugs me about it... otherwise I love it (it took a little getting used to, but everything does).

I use Gmail and love it. I've never had a problem with message threading or with attachments. I use Firefox with the Better Gmail 2 add on.

Interesting! Never heard of that before!

Yes, I KWYM!!! Pita for sure.
If I'm the last to reply, the mail goes to SENT file, along with ALL the emails from my correspondent, all as one conversation and not separate emails. Not so with other email accounts.

Yes! Same here! (about the bolded thing)

I've never had a problem. Sorry I can't help.

Lucky! ;)

I've been using Gmail for years and never had any of the stated problems.

I love gmail. I hate the way replies show up. I also hate when I get more than one email from someone and it links them together if they are from the same day. It makes it difficult to sort out multiple emails from paid for email sites or survey sites. It's hard to see if there is only one or two that day.

I have had my gmail account for YEARS and I can say that the only problem I have had of all these is the not bolding of new replies and this seems to be a more recent thing. Attachments are always in the same place, never have I had one distributed throughout the email. The only thing that annoys me is the gmail apps because they don't sync up with my actual gmail so I have to delete emails multiple times if I use the app and wade through things that I had already gotten rid of so I just don't use the apps and have gmail as a favorite in my browser and problem solved.

YESSSSSS! This is a HUGE issue for me!! Right or wrong, I HATE it, UGH!!!!:headache:

I've never heard of that, will have to look into this.

Me, too. :thumbsup2

I have several Gmail accounts. Maybe that's part of it. Just like paper file folders, I have one email for online shopping or for my Swagbucks, My Points & rewards sites emails, one account for business, (stuff that has to be seen right away and can't be missed or weeded though, in between shopping emails, had they been together,) and one account for personal correspondence.

I've been using gmail for about 5-6 yrs now. I love it. The beauty of gmail is the search function. If you can't find an email, just do a search. I have found emails that I would have NEVER have been able to relocate, if it weren't for the search function. My friends are amazed I can dig up old emails for info that everyone had long lost in their email accts.

Gmail drives me nuts sometimes too. When I have long e-mail conversations with friends or family, I'd say that 75% of the time, they end up in spam and I never get the response until digging through my e-mails (and spam) to try to find it!
