Gluten Free Pasta at Tutto Italia

Anyone? Someone? No one has had Tutto Italia Gluten free that can let us know how it was? Bumping up!

We did Tutto Italia in June, and my son is gluten free. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with the food runner, and she brought him a regular pasta dish (the wheat version of what we ordered). He had eaten a fair amount before the manager realized the mistake. He doesn't have celiac disease, but eliminating gluten from his diet really helped his autistic-like symptoms (he doesn't have autism specifically). So he didn't end up sick from it, but he had some serious behavioral issues as a result.

So, I'd love to tell you that the GF food was good, but we just don't know for sure. :confused3

OMG! I cannot believe that happened. That is horrible that happened and I hope that you were at least comped the meal. At most places, the manager brings out the food, not a food runner or the server. I'm sorry that your son had behavioral issues after this meal, but I cannot even imagine if he had gotten sick or had an anaphylactic reaction.

I am hoping someone can give experience about GF at Tutto. We have dining ressie for our Christmas trip and this is the first one I am planning for newly GF DD. This is one of her previous favorites so hoping we can still have a good experience

Well this definitely does not make you want to go there. They should be extra careful for those of us who need to eat GF. Sorry to hear about your son, I would have been a little upset. They should have been apologizing profusely and shouldn't have made you pay for his dish. I hope it didn't make his behavior issues too uncontrollable. I know how important GF can be for those with Autism.

Thanks for the info, though.

My family had tried Tutto Italia 2-3 year's ago. My brother is celiac so he had the GF pasta and it was not good. The pasta was extremely mushy and the sauce was no better than at Olive Garden. As an Italian family we were less than satisfied with the meal. The pasta is cooked much better at Tony's as we have eaten there multiple year's in a row and had no problems! We are scheduled to try Mama Melroses this year! Hoping its good!

The manager was very apologetic, and our waiter told us that the chef and food runner got a very stern talking-to (well, he actually said there was a lot of yelling). The next day was actually our last day there, so we were able to manage a lot of the behavior just by staying busy and having fun on rides and stuff. But it took a few weeks for him to get back to normal. The ONLY good thing is that now we know that it affects him negatively.

This was our only bad GF dining experience - everything else was wonderful! He actually got really delicious mac and cheese at Columbia Harbor House, and the noodles weren't too mushy or anything.

This was our only non-buffet TS meal, so we were really disappointed. I won't be returning to Tutto Italia.

I had spaghetti and Meatballs( haven't had them GF anywhere since 2008 when I was diagnosed!!!) :hyper: I enjoyed it very much, we were there last in 2011. I mean it's as good as it can be as GF, but I still enjoyed it very much!!

Well I'm very happy you enjoyed your other meals and were able to get him a little more calm for the rest of your trip.

It's also good to hear that then gave them a talking to/yelling to! LOL. At least they are making the EFFORT to train the employees correctly there.
