Has anyone had any experience with gluten free options at the Boardwalk Bakery, Bellevue Room (for breakfast), or the Beach Club Marketplace? I figure that basic snacks such as fruit, potato chips, etc that are standard to Disney property may be available, but I'm curious about quick meals or sandwiches (bread/rolls), pizza, muffins, desserts, etc. We're staying at BWV in November and I'm a little nervous that we won't have quick meal options near our resort for our gluten free DD other than what we prepare in our villa.

I posted this question on the disabilities board but haven't heard back yet so I thought I'd try here since these locations are at DVC resorts. I also plan to contact Special Diets as I usually do before our trips but I've read that they are no longer giving out detailed info about what items can be found where since things can change without notice. Any info on what you have found would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Hmmm, I don't recall anything at the BW Bakery or the BCV Marketplace having much of any bread products that DS could eat. However, I know restaurants around my home town are continually added GF foods to their menus, and it has been about a year since we stayed over in the BWV/BCV area, so maybe they now do. You will have to ask however, as I have never seen anything posted anywhere in WDW. I'm thinking the Bakery may be out unless they have something pre-packaged and shipped in. The risk for cross-contamination would be too high. Good luck!

ETA: I have contacted special diets before and honestly, it was a waste of my time and theirs. You need to talk to the chefs at the sit-down restaurants and the managers at the counter-service restaurants. Only they know day-to-day what is available in their location.

It's been a couple years, but the BW Bakery made GF muffins and GF cup cakes for our DDs. We had to order them at the bakery and give them 24 hour notice, but they we very good, our DDs loved them! We ordered them by the half dozen. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

BW Bakery had brownies and muffins when I was there last Sept. The brownies were French Meadow brand, not sure about the muffins but they had chocolate and blueberry.

Disney is wonderful with gluten free options! Most restaurants are wonderful with options! Baby Cakes down town is a gluten free bakery. You can pick up many things for your DD.

I did not see anything Gluten Free at the BW Bakery. However, I did not ask either. It was somewhat crowded, just peeked my head in.

I will be trying Baby Cakes at DD in October. I was so disappointed in the desert offerings at the CS (gluten free that is). While the managers are great, the CS have very little offerings that are GF.

We'll have a one bedroom next visit, and honestly, I'd rather spend my money eating in at the villa then going to the WDW restaraunts hoping to find something to eat. Is the cross to bear when needing to be Gluten Free....

A few places that were amazing with gluten free were Kona at the Polynesian...they made me amazing GF macadamia nut pancakes.

At 50's primetime they made me GF fried chicken and it was AWESOME! I couldn't believe it. I did put a dietary request in on my reservation so it wasn't a surprise. Also, at Crystal Palace breakfast they offered waffles and muffins that were GF but I was good with all of the other stuff they had.

Do not reccomend the GF waffles from CP the are Vans frozen waffles and were not even cooked well. For good GF mickey waffles go to Cape May for breakfast.

That's why I skipped them at CP! I saw someone else get them and recognized them as Van's!

Hi - If possible, ask Special Diets if they can have the chef from the Boardwalk Bakery contact you prior to your trip - they will make you some gluten free items for you (my DH had muffins made for him). For a sit down breakfast at the Boardwalk, Kouzzina by Cat Cora made my DH a wonderful meal during our last trip. I also read that Baby Cakes items are available at the Beach Club Market Place - was excited to see that :)

Have a great trip :goodvibes

That's why we go to Cape May almost every trip. I love DD being able to get Mickey Waffles just like the other kids.
