I have read through some of the great info posted here for gluten free dining! My son loves Stitch and we are going to do the Ohana breakfast with him, just wondering how they accommodate gluten free for the french toast if anyone has been. Do they use a gluten free product? We've eaten there before but not since he has been eating GF. Thanks!

Denise

I believe Ohana breakfast has Mickey waffles, not french toast. That's what we had last time (Oct.). I've read that they can do GF Mickey waffles. I'm hoping so because this will my first time going to Disney with my gluten issue.:goodvibes

Yup, they serve gluten free Mickey waffles at the 'Ohana breakfast. You'll also get plenty of fruit, sausage, bacon and potatoes.

Thanks! I think I was just starving and craving french toast when I wrote that this morning... I would have sworn that's what I ate there! GF Mickey waffles are perfect!

We ate breakfast at Kona Cafe (next to O'hana's) this spring. I asked about GF Tonga Toast. The Chef told me that they were unable to make it gluten free. We had LOTS of mickey waffles during our stay!

Sorry this won't help too much since you are eating at Ohana; however, I just wanted to let you know that I have gotten gluten free/dairy free french toast at WDW when we went to Boma. It was fabulous. They used Ener-G bread, I believe. I hadn't had french toast since going GF, so I was beyond psyched. I'm sure you might be able to find other restaurants on property that can do it. However, I've eaten at Kona several times, and they could only do Mickey Waffles GF. Since they share the same kitchen with Ohana, I'm not sure how easy it would be to get the french toast. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! I've had a great time at Kona gluten free and at Ohana for dinner GF, so you should be great. Chef Kim works in the mornings and he is fabulous! :thumbsup2

This doesn't help for Disney, but something easy to try at home for French toast cravings is to make French toast pancakes. I pretty much always have frozen pancakes on hand (I make a ton at once and freeze them), so I just defrost them in the toaster and toss them in the egg/milk/cinnamon mixture and fry them like French toast. I use the Pamela's mix for the pancakes.

If I were you I would call ahead to the special dining line and then they can have the chef that works there call you back. Let them know about french toast and they may be able to do it for you.My kids had gluten free french toast at Crystal Palace but we never went to Ohana's.
