I am planning a trip with my friends, they are all allergic to wheat and must eat gluten free food, I was wondering if disney will work with us on that?:confused3

yes they will. When you make your reservations mention your restriction. There either will be a form or they will give you the contact numbers for chefs.

For counter service, there are emails for each park, you can find them on the disabilies forum.

Yes, yes, and yes - WDW can handle Celiac very well....
Our DD has Celiac - gluten free and never had a problem at WDW

By the way - the popcorn at the snack wagons is gluten free, and so are the Ikadozzie ice pops (how ever you spell it, our DD's favorite).
All sit-down places can easily accomodate gluten free - just mention it on your ADR and call one of the #'s below to connect to the specific restautant.

You can always get roasted/bar-b-qued chicken (no teriyaki sauce), bunless hamburgers, salads (no crotons), fruit cups, and ask about the french fries - if they are flour coated and fried separately.
Toy Story pizza in DHS has gluten free pizza (just ask- takes 10 minutes to prepare)

We went last summer with my niece who has Celliac's. The place was wonderful. Every TS will have the chef come out and explain things. Each place brought her food from the back to avoid cross contamination.

It took a little longer at the counter service places but each had meals to offer. POP was especially helpful. They made her something everytime. Once they even boiled water special to make her Mac N Cheese. Just leave a little extra time at these places.

I would safely say that folks with gluten allergies will eat better at WDW than anywhere on the planet! They are that good!

I'd mention the allergy when you make your ADR's and they will be waiting to help!

I'll provide the voice of dissention. I'm gluten intolerant. At times we've found Disney to be good. At times, its been clear that the waiter has no clue and I have to take responsibility for my own meal. This is easy for me, I have an intolerence, it isn't a huge life impacting deal if I have a little soy sauce - but for other people this can be a big deal. I've never experienced the bend over backwards excellence other people have reported. We've never had a chef visit. Counter service can be particularly tough - it basically means eating the pre-fab selection they have, or waiting to have a special bun pulled out and a burger made (or whatever). They can do it (not at all places, but at many), but it may be hard to get the cashier to understand that is what you need.

I would suggest you go over to the disABILITIES Forum and look at the disABILITIES FAQ. Post #3 has a lot of information and links in the "Diet" category which you will find useful. Note you can follow the link in my signature to get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs.
