we have booked Xmas diner here, but I am celiac, does anyone knoe if they can cook food for me here as I understand it is a bufet. Should I change and go to a service resturant instead. Has anyone else tried to eat gluten free here. Also is AKL nicely decorated at Xmas, not as many photos of it on xmas on the xmas photo thread as some of the the other places.

Disney is very accomodating for dietary restrictions.
You can ask on the DisAbility board for a lot of detailed info. There are a lot of people there who are very helpful and know alot about this.

From what I understand, you can contact Disney's dining hotline for details and mark it on your reservation.
The chef at all restaurants will come out and talk to you about what is available for your needs. I believe that they walk you through the buffet at boma and point out what is ok for you.
Some buffets have been known to bring out a preplated plate of food that meets dietary needs. However, you will only get that one plate even though it might be a buffet restaurant. They will not bring out second plates for you and keep endlessly refilling.

Rest assured, Disney will make it work for you.
Definitely contact the Disney Dietary Restriction Department.
407-WDW-DINE and ask for a Cast member regarding your issue.
Do this as soon as possible.
The number is on Disney's website with the dining reservation pages.

I have a friend who has to eat gluten free. At Biergarten the chef came out and showed her what dishes she could have and what she could not. I would guess the same would happen at Boma. Just make sure to list it on your ADR and mention it to your server to, if they do not mention it to you first.

It always pays to always mention any food allergies. Recently I was with a group who had lunch at Sanaa. One person in our group is allergic to mango. She figured she was safe staying away from dishes with mango in them.
Nope. We found out they have "hidden mango" and use mango as a thickening agent.

My gluten free friend also was with me at San Angel Inn for a meal. We found out she could eat the chips, but not the salsa. We figured it would be the opposite! At that time anyway, they used wheat as a thickening agent in their salsa.

However she loves to eat at Chefs de France. Her meals have always been tasty. And being gluten free, you know that can be an issue. She loves their ratatouille. And she often will order the French Onion soup w/o croutons.

She has said too that American Adventure food court has gluten free buns.

Go to Boma! We go there every trip and they are very helpful- many of the salds are gluten free and they are willing to provide other options when the meats have gluten. They have some of the best desserts, and they sometimes have gluten free zebra domes. I'll be back there for supper after running the Disney Marathon in January.
