I've been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and am planning a trip back to WDW. It's been several years since our last visit. Is there a list of restaurants that offer GF options? Would it be beneficial for us to add the dining plan to our package? Thanks for any help you can give me!

I'm gluten free, and have to say that there is absolutely no place on earth that caters to your needs better than Disney! We always do the Deluxe Dining plan, and I get WAY more than enough to eat the entire time I'm there!

Any restaurant can do gluten free items. They even have gluten free mickey waffles at any of the breakfast restaurants. All you have to do is indicate that you have an allergy when making your dining reservations, and your server will tell the chef! They will come out and talk to you, and let you know what you can have (or simply ask what looks good to you on the menu and make it suitable for you). I have alot of Gluten Free reviews on my blog, and will be posting more from our trip in December!:goodvibes

My son also eats gluten free, and I agree with the PP. Disney is the best place to visit with food allergies! I think that the procedure has changed a bit since I went last in Jan of 2011, but you used to be able to get a list of allergen-free foods that are offered at each of the counter service restaurants and snack carts by contacting SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com. It was so nice to have that list so we could pre-plan lunches and avoid having my son looking at and wanting all of those yummy foods on the restaurant menus.

Here is a link to the official Disney special diets website with their current procedures: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/special-dietary-requests/

Chefs at nearly every restaurant we have visited have made special foods for our son and went our their way to make him happy. The best of the best: Chef Mickey's, The Wave, and 'Ohana--breakfast and dinner. The only minor disappointment was Chefs de France, but my son was still able to have a nice meal. We were told for him to choose a meal, and the chef would let us know if it would be a problem with gluten or not.
