Hi, it's our first trip and our daughter 8 has Celiac Disease. We only have one day in MK so don't want to waste time sitting for long meals. I'll bring her breakfast but am not sure what to do for lunch & dinner. We'll go to Columbia Harbour House for the chicken strips and fries but we still need ideas for the other meal. She's a very light eater. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

I have 3 kids and a husband who are Gluten Free and it would be helpful to know where the largest concentration of GF food can be found to satisfy everyone. We will be there for a week and need variety. My kids can't live on just burgers and fries.

We have twin boys, one who is allergic to eggs and dairy, the other is allergic to gluten and dairy. We have found that Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Rays, and Be Our Guest (QS for lunch only) have the best variety. Make sure that you mention the diet restrictions when you order so that they can call over a manager.

Thanks. What do they offer GF at Cosmic Rays?

The 1/2 chicken meal is GF. CR's has GF hamburger and hot dog buns for hamburger, grilled chicken or veggie sandwiches, and hot dogs/chili dogs (I think the chili is GF.). The cucumber salad is GF and really, really good. I've been able to get Enjoy Life cookies here before. The salads may be able to be made GF, check with the manager.

Email specialdiets@disneyworld.com. They can send up the most updated allergy food list for every eatery in the World that provided allergy free food. Most have something, but not all, especially quick service. I just printed out the list and pulled it out at mealtimes. It told me who had what kind of bun or if the chicken fingers were available or what kind of desserts were offered. It was detailed right down to the brand. Made it easy!

At each eatery, let the cashier/server know you have a special dietary need. Most of the time at counter service, you just stand to the side until the manager appears. The manager/designated employee will take the order, give you information and deliver the food to you (reduces cross contamination risk). So it does make getting your food take a bit longer, but it's overall better for our allergy/Celiac people!

Also, the person who takes your order usually brings along a binder with the food info if you need to take a glance at labels.

Columbia Harbor House also has great GF Macaroni and Cheese. DS7 scarfed it down! It was really good, actually. :-) We ended up eating at CHH twice during our 4 days a WDW.

I love Columbia Harbor House. I have a whole bunch of allergies & they give you a allergy specific menu to look over & pick what is most appealing & safe for your needs.

If you haven't found it yet, this is a great site for folks with Special Diets. I drool over it all the time: http://www.glutenfreedairyfreewdw.com/ I have found out about sooooo many yummy options there that I never knew I could get! The biggest key I learned from Sarah's blog is that you should never assume that you can only get what's on the regular menu. Most of the Chef's have special things they make for us allergy folks that aren't listed. So always, ask what they can do for you or if they have any suggestions.

We are local about half the year & I spend alot of time eating in the World. I will often run over just for lunch or something & they are almost always able to deal with my gluten, dairy, eggs, peanut, kiwi & FODMAPs issues. The only place I was completely unable to get any help at all was the France pavilion in Epcot. They could care less about food allergies & make no attempt to be helpful in any way. :sad1:

That's a mouth-watering link!
I'm glad to hear all the good reviews for Columbia HH. Maybe we'll do lunch and dinner there!

i ate at BOG for the first time in November and was really pleased. They have these amazing sandwiches that are served with fries that they do GF. they also of course have one of the best GF deserts i have had on site, the lemon puff pastry. you place your own order at a kiosk, so no binders needed as allergies are programmed in. i also liked that it was fresh food, no frozen pizzas or mac and cheese. i have had the GF chicken tenders at columbia harbour house, but the amount of time they took to cook them was about the same time it took us to get in and out of BOG as the wait to get in there was longer but food came out faster.
