Since La Creperie has been open during CM previews, and will be during AP previews as well, I'm tossing this thread out in case anyone cares to tell about their experience. Specifically, I'm looking for people that have celiac or are gluten intolerant - people who use the allergy menus because they will get sick from either gluten ingredients or cross contamination.

There are buckwheat galettes on the menu, so I'm really hoping I can eat there safely!

I do try to lower my intake of gluten products (just cautious no Celiac diagnosis or similar, thank goodness) thus my interest was redoubled when I read this link that notes the buckwheat crepes are made of salt, buckwheat and water :

All the galette fillings look authentic using the proper filling proportions with the exception of the ratatouille (where’s the eggplant?!) although the truth will be in the eating.
Sorry the jam filled crepes are missing from the menu but perhaps they couldn’t find a quality jam/preserve in regular stock. Wasn’t impressed with the last creperie’s version.

So I was looking forward to trying this place out for the gluten free crepes but Alexis GF adventures posted this on her social media: "During the day, the galettes and crepes are not made on shared equipment, but the next day, they might switch which crepe makers are used for each product.
🤦‍♀️
There also is a risk of cross contamination with wheat where the buckwheat is milled." She got this information from a manager.

Based on how little trust I have in the rest of the France pavilion when it comes to safe GF eating, I'm just not that surprised to hear this.

We had heard something similar from AllEars Molly before our preview yesterday, so we chose not to try a galette. It seemed like the reasoning behind the use of buckwheat for the galettes was that it's authentic, and no promises were being made about safety from cross contamination.

It’s still ridiculous because when this was advertised Disney kept mentioning the gluten friendly galettes. I’m glad I didn’t get to try it now though.

From my understanding they say gluten friendly because for people who are avoiding gluten not due to celiac disease - the buckwheat crepes actually are free of gluten.
But they can't say gluten free because where the crepes are made may have cross-contamination?

And yes, they used buckwheat due to being authentic to the Brittany region of France.

So I guess if you would have a reaction with any trace of gluten, unfortunately I would play it safe and avoid.

Unfortunately, my friend (with the allergy) has learned gluten friendly almost always means "includes a tiny bit of gluten (aka cross-contaminated certainty)" and safe for those who limit it, but not for those who need to avoid it...so, it was "truth in advertising" if you are aware of the way they advertise on the gluten point...

Same thing comes up with "non dairy" advertising - that doesn't mean dairy free and non dairy often has dairy protein components, but does not have lactose...so, safe for lactose intolerances, but not for dairy allergies...

I had to teach a hotel management staff that one - they were shocked on the non dairy creamer...

I know this is an old thread, but any recent experiences with allergies and this place.

Being g-f/d-f (casein) intolerant, I didn't even try anything there upon noting that there are no allergy-friendly items on the menu.

DH was still hungry after an extremely disappointing dinner at Chefs de France and wanted a savory crepe. Our server apologized nicely but said there was nothing suitable for his peppers allergy and that they couldn't assure cross-contamination safety.

Ten-foot-pole is my advice.

We have unique allergies - DS is allergic to milk, eggs among others, but loves crepes at home (we top them with vegan eggs). We usually grab beans and rice from the Mexican QS for him, but that took us 40 mins in Nov (crowds seem worse now).

I can’t have gluten but my daughter looooooves crepes so we went in January. (I figured I’d just have a drink). Discussed w server, he had it prepared as an allergy dish, I had the classique & split the ratatouille w daughter, the crepes were *amazing* and I had no issues.

The ratatouille is vegan so it may be an option if they can alleviate your cross contamination concerns.

CRT is good with gluten (Erin McKenna at Disney world is not gluten free -per the thousands of reviews I read; vs their NY location); I just saw this review; special diets team didn't really help (told me to ask when there and they'll forward my info):
