Just wondering what kind of glue everyone is using? Wondering if anyone has come across anything new these days. I've used Elmer's glue sticks for years and they just don't seem to be sticking like they use to. I'm still liking the Zip pens for piecing Cricut cuts tho. I did pick up a Glue Glider Pro at ACM last week with a 50% off coupon and so far it seem ok for gluing down photos ... just wondering if the repositionable refills will be easier to use? The cartridge that came with it is permanent and makes it a bit hard if you don't lay the photo down right the first time.
TIA for any advice!

Dry Adhesive
glue glider pro - permanent and repositionable (I personally like the permanent more, but that's just me)
Creative memories tape runner
pop dots
glue dots

Wet adhesive
Zig pen
Scotch quick dry adhesive

Thanks Buffy! I see a lot of people rave about the ATG guns but I just can't see putting out that much money for a glue gun.
Just wondering ... do you find that the repositionable doesn't stick as well?

I agree with the OP conclusion on Elmer's glue sticks. They aren't as good as they used to be. I've found 3M glue sticks work great. I need to try one of those glue pens for the little Cricut cutouts. I'm always getting my fingers all sticky.

I am a fan of the ATG. The gun was well worth the investment. I used to spend $25/month on herma fix tape refills. The gun is around $42 I think, and I place $50-60 order for tape once per year. THe rolls are 36 yards - -that is a LOT of tape. I easily saved a ton of money in the first year alone. It also works much better than herma fix little tape squares. Ummm..maybe I used something called Vario?

I like the zig pen for small cricut pieces. Glue dots and pop tape like Buffy mentioned.

I have used the scotch glue sticks and they work well, but I am too messy with them.

I use xyron too -- I have the little X and the 500.

I have not had any success with repositional adhesive of any kind -- it only seems to stick for a short while. I especially dislike the xyron repositional.

I have a great solution for sticky fingers! Cutterbee makes reverse tweezers -- its natural state is closed - -you squeeze to open them. Maybe $6 with a coupon at Michaels -- -worth every penny!!!! Not only does it keep your hands mess free, but it is easier to put the item in place.

I agree with the tweezers, I have the Making Memories one and always use them when I am working with my small pieces from my cricut. I prefer ZIG pens for all my cricut items.

Can anyone post links to these products....I am so new at this.

What is a Zig pen? I am looking for something to help glue down small punch outs like intricate snow flakes.

thanks everyone....I am learning a lot.

I think it sticks ok, but my kids are hard on my books so I like stuff that stays stuck.

ETA loads of friends have the ATG but it to big for me. I don't have a lot of control over it. The glue glider pro is a smaller version.

love these!!! I have the cutter bees tweezers, they rock!!

Sam I will dig up pics and post

glue dots - great for uneven surfaces including bazzill paper

zig pen - I use the top one for small work, you squeeze the bulb in the middle and roll like a roller pen. I use the bottom one for regluing cricut mats.

scotch quick dry adhesive - great for thicker papers and chipboard, a little goes a long way

I use the big and the roller ball zig pens. The roller ball is nice for very small items, the big one is great for redoing Cricut mats!
Also I spent the money for the ATG gun. I taped over 50 wedding invites together and done a lot of other projects and still have 1/3 of the roll left. It is big and you think it would be hard to work but it is not hard to use it. Also I like the size so it never gets lost under paper. I painted it with pink spray and put rhinestones on it. :)

Well, I've been using the Glue Glider and really do like it. I think it's just the right size (don't think I'd do well handling a larger glue gun). Really seems to be holding my photos in place. I think I'll skip trying the repositionable tape and stick with the permanent.

Glad you found something Lynn!

You can buy refills at ACMoore, not sure about Michael's and Joanns though. But use your coupons and the price isn't 1/2 bad.

I used a 50% off coupon to get the Glue Glider ... I'll certainly use coupons ... refills will only be $5 than.
