Glow With The Show

In most cases it sounds like you might see an handful of pairs at any given nighttime show, but they aren't wide spread or all that popular.

You only need one pair. The design between DLR and WDW are slightly different, but they are interchangeable (meaning one pair will work on both coasts).

In terms of what is it like...well...um...err...the ears are heavier than the standard pair and a lot bulkier. I found them uncomfortable to wear and ended up carrying them most of the time. If you are the person wearing them, then you cannot see what they are doing during the show (because they're on top of your head), so you'd be doing more for the people around you. I suppose if a lot of people were wearing them (rather like the videos from the debut when they gave them away), then it might be pretty cool. When it's only one or two people, it's actually rather annoying (think like the person that didn't turn off the blinking mohawk headband), so I try to avoid standing behind someone with glow-with-the-show ears. You can turn them on/off, so they can double for a nighttime glow item, which can be fun.

As a person who does not own a pair but, have been to multiple Disney shows and witnesses others with the ears, they are a little annoying when someone is sitting in front of you with them.

They literally turn on and off synched with the music of the show. They are very amazing. I've wanted to buy them but, don't like the price tag nor the weight of them.

I thought it was a cool idea but after sitting 2 rows behind a family wearing them through Fantasmic I have decided they are distracting and annoying and I hope they disappear into history, the sooner the better!

One of the biggest wastes of money, and hopefully one of those marketing schemes that seems good on paper but dies a quick death. I find them to be distracting and annoying as well.

I like the idea but I find the ears themselves to be expensive, ugly and nigh-unwearable which ultimately destroys the idea.

Smaller/cheaper ears with different hat styles that can easily fit on a child's head so more people would wear them would greatly help them.

Heck, making OTHER non-ears devices that glow in sync with the show would be just as cool (fairy wands, wishing stars, swords... light sabers!)

Or heck, since they're rebuilding the hub anyway - how about LEDs embedded in the concrete to light up in sync with the castle!

I think they sounded like a great idea in a meeting, but ultimately not successful. I never see more than a handful (like, maybe 10) people wearing them. Unless you have a mass of people wearing them, it's pretty lame.

I bought 2 when I went to WDW over the New Year (2014). The others who had them were few and far between.

We didn't take them back when we went to SWW in May. I think they're a good idea but ultimately a dud.

I love them.

I mean, I don't want them myself because I don't like the idea of paying $25 for something to go on my head that I can never see, but I'd like it if everyone else had them and I could watch theirs.
