Here's the thing about the Glow with the Show ears....

Person A thinks they are fun and cool. S/he buys them.
Persons B, C, D, and E has zero interest in them at all.
Person A (and family/friends) wears them to WoC. So, the ears are on top of his/her heads where s/he cannot see them at all.
Persons B, C, D, and E however CAN. See them --- even though they don't want to and they have no interest in them.

So the person who likes them, can't see what they're doing and the people who don't care for them have to see what they're doing.

Personally, they make my vision buggy when it's dark and they are flashing. I don't like them. But I can't do anything about it because Person A (who cannot even see what their ears are doing) decides to wears them - during the entire show.

I think they should make Glow with the Show bracelets. The person who is wearing it can enjoy it without forcing it upon the eyes of those who just want to enjoy the show.

Just my views.

The Fantasmic! dessert package is not a buffet. You get a rather large box of sweets and some fruit, along with various hot and cold be enrages. There are servers who wait on you at your chair in the viewing area. You need to get there early to pre-select your chair. Or just take what's left, which probably means being behind other people also sitting in chairs at the same level as you.

I like the Glow with the Show ears, and agree that a bracelet version would be great.

The fact that the person paying for the hat does not benefit certainly reduces sales. Why pay $25 to improve the show (or distract) other people.

They are heavy and awkward on your head. And I agree, you can't see them flashing during the show unless you take them off and hold them in front of you. Nice idea, would look cool if every person in the park had them on. A lot of money when you won't personally see them during the show.

Disney has not given up trying to market Glow with the Show.
There will be special events for both Fantasmic! (AP only) and Fireworks this month.

What are the details on the Fantasmic one? I've only seen the fireworks details.

I think the Glow With the Show Ears sound interesting. I decided to make my daughter person A so I can see them. :goodvibes

Funny you should explain it that way though. That's the first thing I thought of when I heard them described. Still I want to experience seeing them once. Hopefully they'll still be around in December when we get there.

I want to photograph Fantasmic (with handheld DSLR). Am I better off just camping out early (and how early would that be for a good view with minimal obstructions?) or should I book the party but get there a little less early?

As long as two people on your party buy them then you both get to see it and feel cool wearing it. :)

But even if you're the only one in your party wearing the hat, you still see all the other hats around you, right?

We did the Fantasmic dessert seating last summer.
We had an extended family group - from 5 to 80 years old

One person from our group checked us all in and I guess she claimed the seats for us ... becuase we got there about 15 minutes before the show and the rest of our group had the chairs for us.

when we first got there a waiter came to get our drink orders and then brought us a take out style box that had some fruit, some chees, some cookies, and a couple of little tarts. all things you could get with your hands. refils on the drinks were fine ... we had sodas, coffee and water, there might have been hot chocolate too.

the view was good. We were a little off the left side , but it was still great ... you could see everything perfectly.

honestly, the desserts are not really worth writing home about. To us, the value was that no one wanted to give up time in the park to save seats for the show, and most importantly, the granparents would not be comfortable on the ground.

So for us it was absolutley worth it.

I had a kid beside me one time with the glow with the show hat. I had to block him from my vision to enjoy the show. can't stand them.

Disney California Adventure Park
Elias & Company on Buena Vista St.
Rushin' River Outfitters at Grizzly Peak
Tee's Hats and Tattoos

Interesting that they're no longer selling them at Embarcadero Gifts, since that's the closest store to WoC.
