GLOW II: The Bounceback... Multiple Meets!!!.. First 1/2 of Sept 2008

spent the day in NYC with DD Katie yesterday. Saw Harvey Feirstein in "A Catered Affair" and Nathan Lane in "November" with an upgrade to front row! Unfortunately, I've caught a bad cold and felt like CR!@#! all day but managed, got home about 2:30AM. So today is a hang out and try to get better day. Have a rehearsal tonight (I'm singing at our church fair) that I hope to have enough voice for.

Gail, I am jealous and I seldom am. Not of you being sick though. I hope it is short spate and you are in fine voice. I cannot carry a tune in a bucket so I am jealous of that too!

I wish I had a daughter to go with to those kinds of things. My dd is sooo different, in many ways, from me. My grandson is not though.

We are talking about making a trip to DW together next year if I get fixed up.

I saw Nathan Lane on a show talking about the play and then saw Harvey a bit later. I liked his description of his play the most. I have a dear DIS friend who sends me the play bills from all the plays she goes to. She even once video taped her walk down Broadway so that I could get a 'feel' for it. I am a blessed lady, with so many interesting and kind friends.

What did YOU think of the plays? First row? That hurts my neck thinking about it. I prefer a bit further back.

I am jealous too! Its been nearly 10 years since I was in NYC! I'd LOVE to see a show!

Alicia, if you watch WISH TV you might want to check out the news tonight. They just left my house. They wanted pictures of the high water mark from 1913 flood and they interviewed me and took pictures of my grandson turning on the water. Does not mean that they will use any of the footage but who knows? I hope they show my grandson. He was all over telling them them that he got to hug Angela Buchman, the weather gal, when he was in the 3rd grade.

I have always dreamed of going to a Broadway play. I sometimes get to Indy to see one but it is not the same. Maybe some day you and I can fly off to NYC and see the sights?

Tape it I can, upload it?? Not a clue. lol Probably could figure it out IF I had the time. Sometimes they have clips on their site and I will check it out. It is WISH TV in Indianapolis.

I have been on TV so many times that it is boring. Interviewed for newspaper articles and all. I knew Dalton would be tickled though so I put him in most of the shots. I have no need to be the center of attention. I like to watch. My house was the 'star' anyway. Not many houses this old around.

Just finished mowing the yard. I did it in 4 sections and if you knew just how small my yard was it would scare you.

I get an extra day without Tom as he is staying until Sunday. If I do not have a child to care for I might go furniture shopping tomorrow after hitting the dump. I NEED a big comfy chair for my new bedroom. Red me thinks.

I did one load of laundry and ran the dishwasher. I do not want to be greedy as there are so many who are doing the same and I do not want to crash the water system. Clean undies make my day!

Running out of excuses for not being able to clean the house. Naturally the news crew would show up at MY house!!

BTW, my doctor just called, after office hours, to tell me to increase my dosage of rat poison. Since I completely abstained from any healthy Vitamin K foods I am flumoxed. Thought I would tell some people who care.

still feel like CR#@$ but at least I'm awake. Yes, I am blessed that DD and I are so close. Everyone says she didn't fall far from the tree. The shows were terrific. Front row was not a neck strain for the Nathan Lane show at all!. Takes place in the Oval Office and only has a cast of 5 - perfect view. I liked the Harvey Feirstein more than Katie. It was a short (90 min) show & she thought too short.

We do try to get to NYC at least 2 or 3 times a year. It's a 1 hr drive to the train station and then 1:50 to Grand Central Station. Depending on our time frame, we then walk to Times Square or jump on the shuttle. Wed is our day as we can see a matinee in the afternoon and an evening performance. Yes, it gets expensive. Yesterday we lucked out getting 1/2 price seats for the evening show and "student rush" tickets for the afternoon (Katie graduated last year but still looks like her ID and no date listed!) so tickets for both came to $180. The worse was seeing Spamalot and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at full price, well over $400!!! My favorite was seeing Christopher Plummer (Capt Von Trapp from Sound of Music) and Brian Dennehy in Inherit the Wind from ON STAGE!! Since most of the show takes place in a courthouse, we were placed on stage as spectators, they actually sat next to us, very cool!!!

Still praying for all of you to be safe through this awful weather and now...

I'm going back to bed. No singing tonight!!

where in COlorado are you ?? I never been... I had some friends who used to live in Colorado Springs... and I wang to go to that lil town Valentine...

what do you do anyways... my shift is always 4-12 i dont think I can work a different shift... maybe to pick OT I can do a couple of days here and there but permanently I would sooo get fired...
