Globespan business class

i too would be interested in hearing from anyone that has flown business class with them, we are flying with them in August and really looking forward to it, but not the journey from London to Glasgow (we should have been in Sheffield for DS to compete at the Nationals and thought what the heck we are half way there lets fly from Glasgow, but for the first time ever they have changed the dates for the nationals and they now finish 5 days before our flight, could not be bothered to change flights so plan to go to sheffield on train or coach and then back to london and either fly or drive to Glasgow the day before our flight to Orlando)

are you flying businees with them this year

yes thought we would treat ourselves as we could all do with extra legroom - DH 6'4", Me 6' and eldest DS (15 yrs) just over 6'5"!!!! so as it was a lot cheaper than we thought and after flying sunshine first last year with TCD we thought what the heck!

But it means leaving Gods country and going to the land of the heathens!
Have you had jour jabs for Tetenus, Rabies and Haggis?

Back to the OP - Ali have you tries phoning Globespan and asking about the configuration?? 0131 4667612 is the seat selction phone number.
I do know that Premium economy is a 2-3-2 configuration. :)

mmmmmmmmmmm bit mixed right enough especially about them changing flight dates.

keeping our options open and doing plenty of homework before we make the decision. MY Travel reviews read well for Sanford

Always good to do your homework. You will always get mixed reviews on just about anything (even BA's First Class...).

What sort of price is Globespan and what are the alternatives (if you didn't use Globespane)? Maybe it is worth looking at the pros and cons of you various options...

here's our problem

want to go for 21 nights next year (its our 25th wedding aniv.) but our ds is in a wheelchair and because we fly out of Glasgow we are limited (we need to go the most direct route)

normally use MY Travel as their flight times are good and wehave travelled with DS now twice with them and they have been ok(another issue re DS) but they don't appear to do 21 days.

so it leaves

FC - baggage allowance has dropped to 23kg and won't be enough going for 3 weeks with DS's medical supplies

VA
- doing homework just now as we have never flewn with them and its the first time they have started a service out of Glasgow . also unsure how we would manage our DS because of MCO being so big and with having to collect the luggage twice and their flight times coming home to Glasgow are a bit weird. brochure states 22.45 flight home

Globespan
- reviews on here have been good just concerned if they change the flight days and also reading the link

hence doing loads of homework to get it right for DS's needs

HHhmmmm, ticky... You need convenience, space and luggage for DS, plus you want something nice to celebrate your 25th wedding anniversary (congratulations :) )

I can see exactly why you want a straight forward flight.

I have never flown into Sanford - so have no idea how it compares. We experienced MCO being a pain last time we flew into it: took AGES to get through immigration (a good hour - and we were amongst the first off the plane! Mainly just bad luck with choice of queue - always the way!) and then we had to wait some time for our luggage to come through to the second carousel (not sure why - took about 45 minutes to reclaim our bags the second time...). From what others have said, our experience was a bit extreme...

Virgin have a pretty generous luggage allowance - two pieces per person at 23kg each in economy, two pieces at 32kg each in premium economy, three pieces at 32kg each in Upper Class. Virgin LOOK pretty geared up for people who require special assistance - http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/passengerinformation/passengermobility/index.jsp Maybe someone can confirm or deny if it actually works in practice.

Have you tried phoning My Travel? I would be shocked if they couldn't do 21 days... can't see why they couldn't...

Virgin seem to have very few flights between Glasgow and Orlando. You are looking to go in July? The july return flights seem to leave Orlando at about 20:40 - although that may vary...

Virgin are pretty switched on regarding the disabled. The aircraft will be one of the LGW/MAN 747-400's and if GLA is anything like LGW, then Virgin will have a special assistance desk, which will help you get your son through customs and to the plane.
At MCO, they again, are pretty good from what I hera and will arrange a buggy for you all, or a Porter with wheelchair. You will be last off the plane, but they (I think, anyone know absolutly??) will collect you luggage and get you through Customs, then get you to the main terminal for secondary collection of your luggage.
You could probably get a definative answer from V-Flyer as I know people with disabled children do post there.
