Glitter question

I'm trying to finish up my ABC swap items and I feel like a piece needs some glitter or something on the edges. It's just too plain for me. I've never used glitter in my scrapbooks. Two questions...

*What kind of adhesive and glitter do you use?
*Will the glitter rub off before the pieces get to everyone?

Just trying to figure out if I should give it a try or figure something else out. I don't want the pieces to arrive in everyone's hands in less than tip top shape!

I have never used glitter in a scrapbook before either and would be interested to find out what people were successful with.

I have taken embossing liquid and powder and edged things with metalic gold embossing. The only problem is it has to be something that can be heated for the powder to set.
