Glitter and hair color for girls at the MK barber shop????

So I have read lately that girls can get glitter and color in their hair at the MK barber shop on Mainstreet USA.

Has anyone done this and is it very expensive???

I would love to surprise DD with this when we arrive at MK next Thursday.

Her and I are arriving at our resort around 11:30 and heading straight too MK and this would be a fun things for us to do to start off our trip...

Girls and boys cuts (and adults.)
Inexpensive and fun (sparkles, colored gel, if wanted.)
No ressies.
Can't predict the lines, but expect a wait.
Opens at 9am. Closes at 5pm. 7 days a week.

Children 12 and under, $14
Colored hair gel, $5.
Adult haircut, $17
Beard and mustache trim, $10

1) Please remember that this is a barber shop, not the BBB.
2) Yes, they can add some sprinkles and jell.
3) But, don't look for all the "Hollywood" junk like from BBB.
4) And, as mentioned, be prepared to wait, if you aren't there at its opening.
. . . it is first-come-first-served
. . . there are no ressies
. . . you get your name on the wait list
. . . if you miss your turn, your name is deleted, so don't walk away to shop
. . . the wait time depends on time and day, weather, and phase of the moon

No we are not wanting the BBB experience...I just thought if the lines were not too long we would just get a little colored gel and glitter for the day.

Hoping the week after Labor day weekend will slow down...If there is a long wait we will just move on....

DD and I have been to WDW several times and so we are not going to be in a rush to do everything when we get too MK..We just plan to take our time and explore the park and eat ice cream and whatever we want too do.... It just her and on on this day and I can not wait!!

We won't arrive till around noon ,but the park is open till 10pm next Thursday.

We have been getting the kids hair cut for years. DS is now 11 and he cannot wait for his cut and color, we have been many colors from Astroturff green to blue and white and everything in between. DD now 15 stoped last years but had many years of colors and mickey confetti in her hair. It maybe the best bargain in WDW.

I think I read somewhere they were hesitant b/c it might stain. Is this true? My DD has super blond hair and I'd really like to have this done to her hair. She'll be 2 weeks short of 3 when we go otherwise we'd do BBB. This looks really fun though and is super cheap!

Just back and noticed two adorable little girls with gliter, shapes, color and gel galore! I grabbed Mom's attention in the restroom, complimented them, and asked where and what.

Degrees lower in MK Barbershop vs. DTD - 20?
Walking thru Epcot at night with your two blondies glowing and sparkling up the night - PRICELESS!

My blonde niece, who was 3 last year when we went, had a red Mickey head put on the back of her head. No problem with it staining her hair. Her mom did wash it out the night she got it before she went to bed.

While at MK my son saw a boy about his age coming out of the barber shop and he had green gel in his hair with mickeys in it.

I had been trying to get his hair cut for months and he wouldn't budge. I asked him if he wanted his hair cut like that and he said yes!!!

We went and waited for about a half hour and he got his hair cut, blue gel into a mohawk with mickeys all over the mohawk!!! He wanted it done for when we went to dinner that night at Chef Mickey's.

I was just so happy he decided to get his hair cut lol

All that for only 14.00

The Mom told me she also got a TRIM. Once those scissosrs come out....the price goes up! $5 seems absurdly low - that was a good deal!

I think it may have been posted earlier, but gel and glitter alone is 5$. If you get a haircut/trim AND gel and glitter, it goes from 14$-17$ for the haircut.

I love getting glittered prefer the clear gel tho to hold in the glitter and since I have very curly hair that glitter tends to live in my hair for a very long time. I usually wear it home let the glitter fall where it may in my car or whatever just to spread a bit of magical dust over my car an house.

This trip tho on a harley so doubt I'd get to bring home much glitter .

My DD3 (at the time) has very blond hair and they were hesitant to put color in her hair. I told them to anyway. DD5 had some and how was I to explain to DD3 that she couldn't get color? She chose blue and it didn't stain. She did wash it out that night.

While we were there another time, another boy had very blond hair and they told his mom it might stain. She opted for only the Mickey heads glitter. No color.

BTW, my DD5, DD4, and DS1 have ONLY gotten their hair cut at the MK Barbershop. Never any where else (unless you count the time DD5 took the scissors to DD4's hair and chopped off some curls!).

First haircuts are a specialty at the MK shop.
