Glennbo’s City, Sand, and Savanna PTR - TR Link (pg 73)

Molly you little ninja poster.

Huh-ya! (that's official ninja talk)

Doesn't sound like you want to keep that point of yours for very long. If I had a "looking at you over my eyeglasses" smiley, I'd use it.

Empty threats.

Well, ah, she doesn't know that she's now down to smiley size. :rolleyes1

Poor Judy, she's been demoded to smilie size.:sad2:

Yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion I reached too. See the update I was writing while you were posting. :goodvibes

I think you'll be glad if you try to squeeze it in. Is it possible to add in that extra day, like Sunday? Then you wouldn't have to worry about wearing out your parentals and could go commando at WWoHP. But if you have to do it that Friday, then just do it. Your kids will thank you! Honestly, your list of pros completely outweighs the cons, hands down.:goodvibes

Yep, my experience exactly. Very frustrating.

It was ridiculous. I kept checking my internet connection thinking it was that but nope, just the stupid DIS acting well, stupid.:sad2:

Glad to see you are going to try WoHP! I loved the books and movies and my daughter is just starting to read the books, so I guess we'll have to add that to our itinerary sometime in the next couple of years.

On the Magic Your Way vs AP debate -- we just bought our first AP's this year and it makes me a little ill to think about all of the money we wasted in the past couple of years.

Cool. I'm sure you will all really enjoy it and no doubt it will make for an even more interesting TR.

Yay for checking out Harry Potter land!! It sounds like you guys are definitely going to enjoy it! (Especially if you're able to use that cute HP smilie a few times!)

I don't know -- do you talk what you type? :rotfl2:

That time I did say it out loud. I was amazed at how fast it was loading. I said it out loud and then caught myself not wanting to jinx it. :rotfl2:

Cute little smilie you got there. Now that I know you are going to check out Harry Potter you can throw that thing around a few more times. Nice. Sounds like it will be a blast! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, I'm socking that little baby away for future use. It wasn't very easy to find...I thought they'd be more prevalent. I ended up finding it on some Harry Potter discussion board and I had to look at the properties of it in order to figure out how to link it here.

Correct! Nice job. :thumbsup2

Point recap:
Dan - 3 Judy-sighting wins
Pat - 1 Judy-sighting win
Molly - 1 Judy-sighting win
Magdalene - 1 Judy-sighting win
Rosie - 1 bonus question win

YAY for WWOHP.... I can't wait to go there, but Michael is still too small we have a long wait till he is old enough to read the books. I'm already looking forward to your TR :rotfl:

You've got time, it'll be even better when you can go with Michael.

We oughtta have enough things to discuss in the TR, that's for sure! I'm glad you're looking forward to it.

What is this "down time" you speak of?

You know, when you pass out from exhaustion, sickness, toothache, dehydration, ....(take your pick).

I have a hard time with down time on vacations because I always feel the need to squeeze every last bit of fun and family togetherness that I can. Which I must admit has lead to near "mother- in- law-cide" or "MILcide" for short.

I'll have to keep my eye on Judy...see if she develops any facial tics when she's around my mom.

I'm glad your adding on Harry potter. Iv'e been informed that we will be going there on our next trip to WDW, which to me is sacraligious to consider going to "the other park".:snooty:

So, it will be good to hear how your trip there goes.

I think Disney missed the boat in not scooping up Potter. Instead, we'll get Avatar-land.

Lazy packing is overrated! WWOHP on the other hand :yay:

You're right! You're supposed to come home exhausted from vacation.

Huh-ya! (that's official ninja talk)

Interesting. You don't hear ninja talk too often, (official or otherwise), since they're usually sneakin' up on you. :tiptoe:

Empty threats.

Don't push it.

Poor Judy, she's been demoded to smilie size.:sad2:

Fewer pixels, but more prestige.

If we were flying, maybe we could push out the travel day, but since it looks like we'll be driving, we'll really need to get on the road. I think we'll be all right. Maybe by that point in the trip we'll have the whole "different speeds" thing worked out.

It was ridiculous. I kept checking my internet connection thinking it was that but nope, just the stupid DIS acting well, stupid.:sad2:

I've gotten a couple of "Internet Explorer could not open the webpage" error screens today.

Darn swim meet. :lmao:

I suppose you'd risk electrocution if you took your pc to the pool.

That's definitely the concensus of those who've been there! I'll let you know in a few months. :)

On the Magic Your Way vs AP debate -- we just bought our first AP's this year and it makes me a little ill to think about all of the money we wasted in the past couple of years.

They're definitely the way to go if you get to the World enough for them to pay for themselves. And then you get the benefits of short hops into a park, just for the evening or whatever.

I hope you can keep it a surprise from the kids. :goodvibes

Me too. I've almost slipped a couple of times already, so I am probably the biggest risk of blowing it.

Cool. I'm sure you will all really enjoy it and no doubt it will make for an even more interesting TR.

Thanks Tina! I forget that you folks have alterior trip report reading motives.

I think we will. Yes, you'll get sick of that smiley by the time I'm done with it! :rotfl2:

That time I did say it out loud. I was amazed at how fast it was loading. I said it out loud and then caught myself not wanting to jinx it. :rotfl2:

Well in that case I hope you knocked on wood and threw some salt over your left shoulder and stuff like that.

Glad you were able to make an easy decision about going to WWOHP! You'll have a great time.

Sometimes local places have coupons for US/IOA, I'll keep my eye out for you.

I think you know this already but AAA has discounts throughout universal and city walk. 10% of merchandise in the park and at many of the restaurants, including merchandise at those as well! We used it for souvies in both parks and at Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritaville. :thumbsup2 I think we used it at Mythos for lunch but would have to check my notes on that one. I think it also might get you a discount on parking at Universal.

I started to look online earlier today, but got interrupted. I just went back on and all I see are savings on 2-day, 2-park admissions. :headache:

Hooray for WWoHP! I'm sooooooooo jealous. I'm dying to go...just never seem to be able to squeeze it in!

So, I finally have the time to write something more than 0 Judy - but I just could not let that chance go by!!
:goodvibes

I think it is great that you are all taking the plunge and try out IoA! Katharina and I really enjoyed it a lot! For the seniors I think it won't be too bad, because you can tour it all in just one circle, so if you are sensible about it, you can cut down on the walking quite a bit.

It is a shame that you have to leave early, because from what I hear, evenings at WWoHP are often the best time as they are least crowded.

And I still have to get to it in my TR, but we had such a fantastic meal at Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort that I would really recommend that for dinner! It is a very nice restaurant, but wasn't more expensive than our meal at Kona Cafe.

The pros definately outweigh the cons so glad you'll be able to enjoy it!
And you will enjoy it!!! FJ is an amazing ride- I usually get motion sick on these kinds of rides but I like it so much I suck it up. I ride once while DH and boys ride twice in a row :)
I'm sure you've researched and know already that the HP area is not big at all so that's good for being able to do everything before heading back to WDW.
Have a Blast!

Well just look at the lists…the Pros outnumber the Cons right? So, I talked to Judy and she was all for it. She said she’d hang back with slower members of our party, if need be. Then I called my mom. She was up for going too, so looks like it’s on.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

That is all.
:)

Wow, if a little bit of peer pressure is all it takes to get you to go to IoA, I wonder what else we can get you to do? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Looks like a good plan, I'm sure you guys will have a great time.

I am with the ones having issues with the Dis !!I got sooooo frustrated I just stayed off and now I have a lot of catching up to do !!!!Glenn I think you will enjoy Universal !!Carol and I are going this year either May or September looks like I am hoping for September and Disney in October . I am also sooo hoping that later this year or next I can do a SOLO trip or one without being an escort or having the family with me !!!!

Pros
  • Everyone in the family is a fan of the books, or at least the movies
  • The area, and particular the ride “Forbidden Journey”, are awesome (per your reports)
  • We’ll have a car, which will make getting there much easier than finding transportation
  • The kids are at a great age to enjoy it
  • The biggie – who knows how long we’ll all be able to vacation together, if we wait for “next time”?

That last one was the deciding factor, wasn't it? Can't wait to see what you think of it! Who knows, maybe you'll convince us to visit...
