I'm back myself...actually back Wednesday night, but just went to sleep, and have been catching up at work all day yesterday and today. Finally came on the boards this afternoon to have a look around at what I've missed.
So glad to have officially met some DISers! Though my first three days around the parks I saw no LGMHs anywhere, I finally got to meet some of the illustrious group from this thread at Boma on Monday evening - (here goes a failed attempt to remember everyone's names) Glenda, Glenda's mom, Timmy, Kat, Aubriee, Mark, Betty (I think?), and Jamie (I think?). Sorry...I stink with names until I've met people 5 times!
I haven't even looked at my cameras to load the photos and start sorting through - that's a weekend job.
The parks were fabulously empty - Friday at Downtown Disney I had no problem grabbing a seat at Rainforest without wait when I arrived that evening...and had a private boat back to OKW. Saturday in Magic Kingdom was amazingly empty - I walked directly onto the boat at Pirates, right into the stretch room at HM, did TTA twice with an empty line of cars one of the times, jumped on the train for a round trip of the Kingdom without wait, and enjoyed some shady relax-time in Frontierland with an ice cream.
Sunday in Epcot - empty again! Under 10 minutes for Soarin with no fastpass, walked directly onto Spaceship Earth and had a solo set of cars, enjoyed the Chinese gymnast show inside the temple (they had moved it inside...too hot outside!), drank around the world and enjoyed the view and my favorite shady spots throughout (Mango Margarita, enjoyed in the China garden, Japanese ice up by the teahouse, a frozen lemonade enjoyed in the back of Italy, Tangarine Daquiri at Morocco enjoyed in the shady alleyways, Grey Goose lemonade back by the France gardens where the princess comes out, and a Moosehead in the O Canada mineshaft waiting for the movie.
Monday was at Animal Kingdom - Kilimanjaro Safari was less than 5 minutes to board the trucks, Everest was only 10-15 minutes standby, Kali River was closed for about an hour so couldn't hit that one, enjoyed the train to conservation station, some O-rings at Flame Tree enjoyed out on the lakeside pavilion, and of course a frozen Pina Colada at Dawa bar for some cooldown...and later that night, Boma with the gang.
Tuesday morning was checkout at OKW, moving into the Hilton, and two days of conference, before the drive home Wednesday night.
Man...I can't believe I have to wait until December to get up there again now!
