Glendamax Report: "Oh why did I go SOLO"?

Am catching up slowly but loving it. I.m going alone in Feb but already have 1 meal planned with Marsh and we will see Spectra & Wishes together. She's at Pop too so we will try to hang out there too! Have another meet with a couple at PI planned and hoping for The Electric Pageant Cruise with a Dis family . This is just so much fun planning my days the way I want and meeting other Dissers too!!

Hi, Glenda! I've been lurking throughout your entire report. Absolutely loved it. You made me laugh out loud more than once. I would LOVE a solo trip to WDW, but I really doubt DH & the kiddos would appreciate that!!!

Being shy, it is hard to imagine a solo trip, but might just try a long weekend one of these days

I have to say that I also felt that way about AKL. After a long day it was hard to walk the long walk to the room. I did like that it was all enclosed(we were there during a hurricane)

You're beating us back in December. We'll be there Christmas Day. Since I've never been at Christmas, it adds extra excitement to this trip, just the same as with this first Halloween trip.

I didn't get your PM until I got back. If I ran across Lan, I never knew it. We saw one lady with a LGMH on her backpack on our last night when we were on Main Street picking up last minute food gifts to bring home. We thought about speaking, but I was pretty rough looking, and I didn't really want to give anybody a horrible first impression. If it had been earlier in the day when the heat and humidity hadn't done me in, we probably would have. We saw a lot of lime green shirts throughout the trip, so I'm guessing some of those could have been Disers, but nothing ever jumped out at us enough to invade anyone by asking.

Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, I enjoyed your report. My favorite part was the video of you willing your stuff away before your ToT ride. I'm sorry that you didn't feel good during your trip. Hopefully, the December trip will be that much better because you'll be feeling good!

We had the same experience at AKL. Way too far from the lobby and were not blown away by our stay. Love the lobby, but that is free- I would rather visit on my way to the restaraunt or stop to see the animals than actually stay there. Don't see that comment much but ITA!
Hope our paths cross in Dec. during my first solo trip!

I really hope that the new AKL for DVC will be better situated. If not, I'm going to book whatever is closest to the lobby no matter the view!

Sometime next month, I'm going to try to figure out who will be in WDW when I will, so maybe we can meet up for a ride or two!

I must say that I was disappointed with the distance I had to walk at the end of the day. Hopefully, Disney will build tower resorts as tall as the bldg codes allow in Orlando!

I dont know if I'll be solo. One of my friends wants to go, but she has to see if she can get someone to watch her kids. I'll be getting there on the 11th around 3:30pm. If you fly out late, maybe you can meet me at AKL at Boma for dinner! Let me know!

Great conclusion! I, too, am sorry to see it end, but I'm looking forward to hearing all about your December trip! Its nice to have all the info on doing a solo trip. I might look into doing that someday (guess I'll have to wait until the kiddos are grown up, because I don't think they would appreciate that now )

So sad that this TR has come to an end, but I am looking forward to your report in Dec. along with pics. My parents took me and my sister's family (which included my 4 yr old nephew) and my dh (who I was just dating at the time ) during the first week of December, and I remember it being beautiful! You will LOVE it! BTW, dh and I got engaged after we got back from that Disney trip. There is just something about that place!
