Glendamax Report: "Oh why did I go SOLO"?

Do you HAVE to end this so soon? Maybe drag it out just a bit more?:flower3:

See, Glendamax, I'm living vicariously through your report. My family has just relocated to Tampa and my husband wants me to wait to return to work. With the kids in school and him at work all day, I'm only a 40 minute ride from me Precious ( Mickey). I could go spend the day there by myself, but wondered if going solo was for me?

Maybe I need to spend more time on the DIS, get to meet more LGMHPCers and arrange to meet up on TOT? :grouphug:

Your trip report is SO good!:cheer2:

 you got to finish the ride. Sad it is coming to an end soon.

Glenda,
I have really enjoyed your trip report, I hate to see it end. It was a pleasure to meet you and visit with you, I am only sorry that I did not pick up on the fact that you were so sick. You sure did not let on...what a trooper you are!!! Would have loved for you to join our family for breakfast or dinner.....but it may not have been that much fun for you with my four grandchildren.:lmao: Will be looking forward to the December trip report. Try to get plenty of rest before then!

Carol

Usually I feel sad leaving main street for the last time. But this time I just couldn't. God had been soooo good to me, to allow me to have such a GREAT time on this solo trip! Also, for the first time, I could say "I'll be back in a few months anyway"! So I looked back at the castle once, smiled, and never looked back!

It's interesting how your idea of a WDW vacation changes when you buy into DVC. I believe from some of your previous posts that you just bought in to the DVC this year. (right?) Well, I did also and I found similar thoughts during my May trip. I didn't feel at all disappointed if I didn't do some of the things that I had planned because I knew that I would be back 1-2 times each year now.

Aww, why does it have to be over so soon?:goodvibes

Can't wait to read the final installment!:thumbsup2

Glenda - I have finally caught up. So sorry that HM "trapped" you again, but I am glad that you were able to complete your ride. I just love your reports, and your videos are a great addition. Every time I see Old English Roses china in our sale papers, I think of you.....my mystery internet friend:hug: :rotfl:

I am hoping to meet some disers in real life when I go marathon weekend in jan. :woohoo:

Hope your allergies get better. Sending you some healthy pixiedust:

Wooohooo, you finished HM! :woohoo: That was hilarious what you were thinking, I would've been thinking the same thing. :rotfl2:

Awww it's coming to an end.

:offtopic: Isn't Heroes good! I was wondering how exactly they were going to handle this season because I thought it all took place in the past, but it's only Hiro's storyline that does. I recorded Pushing Daisies today too. Thursday is my drool fest though with Smallville and Supernatural.

Mmmmmm Tom Welling.
Mmmmmm  Jensen Ackles...

Heroes is in my top 3 shows. I have not seen Smallville in 2 years.
ok just wanted to share. :)

Good Evening Glenda Darlin'

I too was very sad that we did not get to meet up. I really could not believe that as you were arriving back at AKL we were departing.:sad2: So, so sad. My DD was sad also. I had talked about meeting up with you and ET so much that I think she was almost as disappointed as I was. Well girlie, you know what that means...a do over! YIPPEE!:cheer2:

We did eat breakfast at the Mara and you know, I agree with you...it was just like any other resort food court. I too thought it would have been a little more "interesting" but for breakfast, it wasn't:confused3 .

I am looking forward to going through the HM later this month. I hope they have gotten rid of their 'glitch' by then.

Hi Memom! Thanks for the sweet compliment on my DD. She is already a true Disneyholic...yep, we gave her some of the koolaide too! :drinking1 I guess you are on your way with your DD and GD to the House of Mouse for a fun time at the MNSSHP. I hope you are all having a grand time. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to hearing about that!

Hi ET! What a great picture your DDs...looking oh so lovely in front of the castle. I can't wait to see my DD all dolled up after the BBB. I hope we have as good of an experience as your girls did.
I hope you are having a great evening and feeling better.

Ok...OK...what is this??? You are going in Dec? Gmax is going in Dec? :scared1: Do you guys notice that someone is missing??? That would be ME!!!! :yay: Hey...Don't forget me.
I have a great idea:idea: ...Glenda needs to adopt me also.:thumbsup2 Yes! That's it. What fun we could all have. :dance3:

Hi Lan...How are you? I'll think I should just go ahead and invite you too.:thumbsup2 So...pack your bags. Hope that is okay with everyone.:goodvibes

Anyone else want to come???

Well Glenda, I am sad that your TR is almost complete. You have done a great job! Thanks so much for sharing and in a really timely manner, too!:thumbsup2

The Departure
Fri. 9/14

Well folks, my trip was officially over. Thank goodness I did manage to arrive on time to get my last counter service meal at Mara, before the ME bus came. I got the chicken finger strips meal to go, and a slice of cake. With about 30 mins to spare, before the ME bus, I ate my last meal in AKL's lobby. While eating I noticed a family with a few kids sitting in the lobby also. The adult with them was none other than DISer "Carol/Houston"!

After I finished eating, I went over to chat with Ms. Carol for a bit. They had a little drama getting back home because of storms in Texas. As I was wishing her a safe return home, she told me that she thought that we were on the same ME bus. Later in turned out that we were!

I got my lugguage, and headed to the benches at the ME stop. I thought it was odd that for a resort so large, that there were only two benches. But hey, they also have a sub-standard "food court". When I sat down, there was only me, and an older couple. So maybe they only needed 2 benches after all. As I sat there thinking about my trip, I noticed that the shade I was sitting under got smaller and smaller. Soon, the sun was shining full force on my legs! I was really hoping that the bus would come soon!

When the bus pulled up - waay past the benches - I discovered that there were other people waiting because a woman walked up to the driver ahead of me, from the steps behind the stop. After boarding the bus, I saw DISer Carol. It was nice seeing a friendly and familiar face on my way home :goodvibes In spite of their flight delay, and trying to get to the airport. She still had a smile on her face. See there's a lesson: Don't sweat the small stuff!

One of the stops we made was at Pop Century. It had to be about 100 people sweating , waiting for that bus. I felt soooo sorry for them. Fortunantly, the bus driver called for another bus, and exaggerated the number of people - I guess in hopes that everybody would get a seat, AND that they would get there quickly. He filled in the rest of our bus, and headed to the airport. It was then, that I recognized how hard that man worked that day - lugging ALL those bags under the bus, in all that heat, AND having to deal with all the dirty looks from those who couldn't fit on the bus. When we got to the airport, I gave him a $5 tip. I hope that others tipped him as well.

After getting to my terminal - Southwest - I noticed that people were already vying for their spots in line. I started to try too - but you know what? I'd been standing in line all week. I'd just have to hope, that I'd get the emergency row seat. What I forgot to add in the installment from the day before, is that I found out that I could check in 24 hours before my flight to get the "A" group on Southwest, at the conceirge counter. Had it not been for this site, I wouldnt have known to even ask. So once again, thank you DISers for sharing information. :grouphug:
Before I went to wait for my flight, I bought a cup of green tea, and took the cold medicine that CherokeeMama left for me at the front desk! THANK YOU!!!!! When it was almost time for the flight, I got in line for the "A" group, all the while praying that I get the "A" group. Well, I board the plane. I'm walking up the aisle. There are 3 seats on each side of the aisle. There were passengers already in the aisle and window seats of both emergency rows. :guilty: So, I looked to my right, and apologized: "I'm sorry, but I need to take this seat". They didnt look upset at all. I sat in the middle seat, in between a tall White man on the aisle, and a Black woman by the window. Now by looking at the man's legs, I could tell that he was taller than me. Hmmmm . . . . I may go home with yet another souvenier! But you never know, just because I would date outside of my race, doesnt mean that this man will. But we'll see.

Well during the flight, the woman turned out to be really chatty - but a good kind of chatty. It was like flying with a friend! However, I couldnt get a peep out of the man. Oh well.

When we land in Baltimore, and are about to deplane, the man stands up, and I see what I think is a GUN on his hip! Now I've only seen them on TV or on cops, but it does look like a GUN!!!! I turn to my new girlfriend with almost clenched teeth::scared: Is that a gun? She looks over in a calm way and say that he's probably the plane's officer - I can't think of the right name now, but you all know what I mean. OHHHHH!!!!! That explains why he wouldnt say much, and was sitting on the end. So I had the perfect seat: Chatty Cathy on my left, and Officer Friendly on my right! Thank you Jesus!

One of my friends picked me up in Baltimore at BWI airport. It was cool and rainy. Oh well.

That night I managed to do ALL of my laundry, before going to sleep! :snooty:

It was great returning home to find out that all was well, and I had NOT regretted my trip!

Comming up: Epilogue
(and replies to everyone!)

Sounds like everything went smoothly for your departure. Nothing says vacation is over like a stressful flight home. Glad you didn't have to leave the magic behind until you were full and ready!:goodvibes

Do you HAVE to end this so soon? Maybe drag it out just a bit more?
Nope! All good things must come to an end! :snooty: (I just LOVE this smiley, dont you?)

 you got to finish the ride. Sad it is coming to an end soon.
Thanks for hanging in there till the end! So glad HM didn't make me late for the ME bus!

Hey Carol!
I'm so glad you stopped me and introduced yourself! If we ever do meet up at the World again, that will be your excuse to escape for a little adult time alone with me! (shhhhhh! It'll be our little secret!)

It's interesting how your idea of a WDW vacation changes when you buy into DVC. I believe from some of your previous posts that you just bought in to the DVC this year. (right?) We'll see if DVC gives me this feeling everytime. If not, at least I had it this time!

Hello, this is your mystery internet friend speaking! I hope you do get a chance to meet some DISers on your trip. It makes the names on here come to life! And thanks for your wishes for my allergies! I am feeling a bit better!

I want a DVC! Glenda will you adopt me until my dh comes to his senses?
No need, just show him the receipts from last 2 vacations, then show him the total cost of DVC. He'll come around! :thumbsup2

:offtopic:Yes! Heroes IS GOOD! But for me on Thursdays, I watch everything on ABC and NBC (you gotta see The Office!) - I have 3 VCRs and TIVO! LONG LIVE THE VCR!

Looks like we all have very similar tastes...:rotfl:
guess I'll have to see if I can squeeze in Smallville and Supernatural too :rolleyes1

Heroes is in my top 3 shows.
I think the Hispanic brother and sister will be able to kill "the boggeyman" that the little girl dreams about!

Thank you! I tried my best to get it over with quickly! I dont see how some people are still doing their reports MONTHS after they're over!

Yes! I did not want to leave hungry, without using my last CS, then buying overpriced food at the airport!
