Should I worry about my husband glasses falling off during any rides while on our Disney trip????:confused3:cool2:

I too am a bespectacaled rider, and have had no issues with anything in WDW. If you're very worried about losing the glasses, they sell little straps that the arms of the glasses slip into and wrap behind the wearer's head that would insure they don't fall off. The rides I'd be most careful with are RnRC, BTMRR, EE & Dinosaur. Kali River Rapids would be another one to be careful with...the waterfall on a similar ride in my hometown knocked off a pair of my glasses once.

I wear glasses and have been worried about this in the past.

I used to "hold them on" when we went on the RnR, but didn't do that last Sept and they were fine! Didn't fall off, didn't even budge. I've also ridden Dinousaur, EE, Space Mountain, BTMRR, etc.... Haven't had a problem on any of those rides.

same here I would hold them or put them in my camera case but the last couple of trips I decided to leave them on...and they stayed on!!! The only two that really worried me were ToT and RnR and they didnt move

The only time we had problems was at the waterparks, if you do a body slide. My husband lost his at the bottom, but we found them quickly. No problems on any of the theme park rides at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I started asking people in line at RnR who I saw wearing glasses if they'd been on the ride with their glasses before and did they stay on. Then, I decided not to hold on to them. I always had my hand over my face in the previous ride pictures. :rotfl:

wow, I have never even thought about my glasses! WIth that said, I don't ride the thrill rides - ToT was it, and in that case, I was holding onto my youngest daughter who was 5 at the time - she was fine, but it was me who was scared to death, :lmao:

I had mine knocked off on a slide at Blizzard Beach! It was a pretty small slide that you ride on a mat laying flat. As I came around a curve I hit my head (pretty hard actually!) on the side of the slide and my glasses flew off! I have to say I was more concerned at the time about a possible head injury and didn't even realize that my glasses came off until after I climbed out of the slide. I told the lifeguard and they had someone come to "dive" at the bottom of the slide with his goggles on to look for my glasses. Luckily they were found, not broken!

As for my head, I ended up in First Aid with an ice pack where the nurse kept telling me about all the people that hit their heads on the slides!!

I take my glasses off on Splash and Kali just because I hate it when my glasses get wet. I've never had a problem with them coming off on any WDW attraction.

I never had my hand over my face, but on the sides of my head...looked like the kid from Home Alone :rotfl:

I do the same thing :) Like everyone has already mentioned, I've never had any problems with my glasses riding any of the rides. So wear them, don't worry, and have fun! :cool1:

We have all worn glasses at some point and never lost them. As long as they fit properly, you should not have any issues. :)

My dad got one of those straps a PP was talking about and wore his on pretty much every attraction while we were at Disney. I think he took them off on RnRC, since it goes upside down, just as a precaution. We actually had a couple of times where they "came off", but the strap saved them, so I'd say get the strap and don't worry about it.

The only time i take my glasses off is just before the drop on Splash Mountain. Not because I'm afraid I'll loose 'em, but rather because when I leave 'em on they get all messy and wet and I can't see very well until I wipe them off, and that's sometimes hard to do when i'm soaking wet.

So, I slip 'em in a pocket and put 'em back on after the splash down.:rotfl2:

Never had a problem with mine, even on RnR. I actually go before trips to the store to get mine re-tightened/fitted since they seem to get loose during the year and it only takes them a few minutes, peace of mind is worth the effort :)

My brother lost his on Dr. Doom's Fearfall at US IOA, but they had previously been fine on the Disney rides :)

THANK YOU ALL! My husband has very bad eyesight. I think I might get him a strap just in case. But it looks like for the most park we have nothing to worry about!:)

I use one of those cord that fit on the ear pieces but it's not for the thrill rides. I have my sun glasses on the cord and let them hang around my neck when we go into buildings and switch to my regular glasses so I can see in the dimmer light. It's a shame that I want to be able to see indoors as well as out.
