Glasses on rides given the loose article crack down?

If I have sunglasses on my face secured with a croakies band will I be able to keep them on for all rides at Universal? What about prescription glasses?

If you have them on your face.
They don't know if they are prescription or not.
My son and DH wear regular and prescription sunglasses with no strap on the rides.

Thank you very much! I'm not worried about losing them, I do have croakies. I was just worried about them not allowing them since they are metal with all of the metal detectors.

i have not been to the parks since the metal detectors went up last week.

it would be obvious if they wanded the croakies that it wouldn't be an issue to get on the ride with them.

i mean, come on, you can't expect a person to put their glasses in a locker.....

I have never heard of Croakies so I just searched them and they look like a good idea. I'm practically blind so if I lost my glasses that would be bad, but if I put them in a locker I wouldn't be able to appreciate anything because I couldn't see! So do you wear the actual Croakies brand, or do you wear Chums, or something else? Just looking for recommendations.

i bought the croakies brand and it served it's purpose well.
it was comfortable for me so i never have switched to chums.


i'm sticking with croakies as it's never failed me yet.

i'm sure there are other devices that people use but it's not in me to experiment and try something else.

I wear a no name strap I picked up for cheap somewhere. Has worked wonderfully for years

That said, are they even necessary? I know they are not at WDW. I do use them at Cedar Point as I lost a pair of glasses there once (naturally on my first ride of the day!). It would be much less hassle not to even bother with bringing them.

croakies are valuable for some rides at the darkside.


especially great for the dudlely water ride.
the last drop and if a force of water hits your face, glasses can get pushed up (on your face that is(

We were just at Knott's Berry Farm in SoCal last month and they made us take off our sunglasses and prescription glasses on their Silver Bullet coaster which is very similar to Dueling Dragons.

All I can say it was not very fun riding when you couldn't see anything.

Let's hope this doesn't happen at Universal

Dollywood also makes you removed glasses. I've always been the type to put them in my fanny pack or leave them in my bag, but that's mostly at Kings Island or other theme parks where you just us cubbies by the load zone. I'm getting us some variant of a croakie for this trip. I also wore my most-recent-old pair of glasses to Dollywood last time, and had my new glasses in the car. The cost of my lenses this last time around has made me super gun-shy about possibly losing them.

The Walmart Vision Center will have plenty of no-name brands to choose from if you aren't picky or can't find the real thing where you live.

I agree. Not everyone is just 20/100; some people have very very bad vision, and it's just not a good idea for them to walk through a line without them.

Was at the park yesterday- On our way out there were two pairs of sunglasses in the netting at Hulk. My husband and youngest DD rode all the coasters at IOA and they had to go through metal detectors and in some cases had to wait for people to be wand with a hand detector.

Geez, I'd be puking just walking 20 feet without my contact lenses. I can't imagine if they made people take off their glasses. I would think that from a legal perspective, they're probably not allowed to anyways since corrective lenses are medically prescribed.

I personally find it blinding to walk back to the lockers to retrieve my sunglasses...cant imagine doing it without prescription glasses..thank god for lasik!

I was allowed to wear sunglasses on all the rides last week (and in many cases I did not have them on my face (just had them hanging on a strap around my neck) when I went through the metal detectors). No one said a thing.
