Alright all you prescription glasses wearers...how do you deal with your glasses while on a ride? I wear glasses 100% of the time, but thought that since my yearly eye exam is coming up, perhaps I'd try contacts. Are glasses a hassle? TIA!

I've never had a problem and I've done everything except California Screamin'. I would say that if your glasses fit well you shouldn't have a problem. Sunglasses fly off much easier mainly because they are lighter and tend to fit looser.

DD7 had no problems with her glasses. We did take them off on CA Screamin' "just in case".

I wear my glasses on all the rides... even on california screaming. Just make sure they fit well.

I've worn my sunglasses on Screamin with no problem. However, I wear contacts. Always having glasses in front of me bothers me so I only wear my glasses at home in the evening after I take my contacts out. Even if you don't wear them to DLR, you might want to give contacts a try. If you are aren't used to them though, you might want to bring glasses and your contact case if you decide you want to take them off. DH's contacts bother him after a while because he needs larger contacts. I don't even notice mine and can wear them until late at night.

I'm a 24/7 glasses wearer since I was 7 years old ... I even swim and sleep with them on, because I cannot see anything without them :)

If your glasses fit tight, you can wear them on everything EXCEPT the front row of California Screamin'.

Why not the front row? I was planning on requesting the front on my upcoming trip.

Oh my gosh! Everyone thinks I'm so weird because I swim with my glasses on. Helpful people at the pool (EVERY SINGLE ONE it seems like :rotfl:) tell me that I have them on, and then look at me funny when I say "I know" and dive beneath the surface with them on. I loathe not being able to see! I get into the shower and don't realize I have them on until they start to steam up. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. :goodvibes

I wear my glasses all the time, on all the rides..

But do not lean forward and try to knock on the Doombuggy in front of you, to scare your best friend....

Lets just say, good thing that was the last ride of the night, and that there was an optomitrist office open way early in Anaheim, so we could make rope drop.....

If your super worried, get an eyeglass chain... That way if they do fly off... They might stay around your neck... A glass retainer head strap...

My brother has a short small spring strap thing that he hooks onto the frames and it goes around his neck next to his skin. It is hard to describe but it is like a tight coiled version of a spring in a click pen, long enough to go around back of your head to attach to the arms of both sides. It is a just in case thing but he has never had a problem with or without.

He doesn't wear them swimming though...I am his seeing eye person at water parks :lmao:
(unfortunately his sight is still good enough such that I can't walk him into trees though ;) )

I also must wear glasses all the time (even swimming) and unfortunately am unable to wear contacts. I was fine on all the rides although I was a bit worried about Space Mountain.

We always wear our glasses and have never had a problem! The only thing we don't ride is California Screamin' so can't attest to glasses staying on, on that ride, but sounds like it's okay too from the other posts.

DD13 hasn't any problems with hers, I wear sunglasses when I ride rides. I wear contacts every day tho, I'm one who only takes her contacts out every night, or actually every 3-7 days...and I've never had any problems with sunglasses.

Never had a problem with glasses but I do opt to wear contacts in the parks if my eyes aren't bothering me too much for them. I don't want to carry both sets of prescription glasses (reg and sunglasses) with me.

Why not the front row? I was planning on requesting the front on my upcoming trip.

There is simply a great deal of wind force coming at you in the front seat and nothing to direct it away from you. Unless your glasses are glued to your face, I wouldn't try wearing them in the front seat of California Screamin'.
