We are heading to WDW in Jan. My wife remembers going as a kid, and visiting a shop where a guy was blowing glass. Does such a thing still exist? She would like a Pluto glass souvenir.
Yes there are several. I know in the MK there is one. At DTD there is also one. I also think basically there is one in each of the parks; but with saying that I could be wrong.

We've seen what look like glass-blown figures at the shop inside of Cinderella's castle and in the Mexico pavillion at Epcot on the left hand side of the market area. Most of what we saw were Disney characters.
from what I can remember... Last time I went (11 years ago) I went and got a Dragonfly from the glassblower at the Mexico pavilion in Epcot, I also bought my sister some ballerina earings and a matching necklace.
Glass items cannot be transported safely on any commercial airline flights.
Packing glass items is a complex engineering task, not just stuffing in tissue paper. If the item is inspected at the airport, the inspectors will almost surely not get it repacked correctly.
Yes, they are all basically the same company so you will see pretty much the same merchandise around the park. I've never had a problem bringing anything home from the park. I purchased the top for my wedding cake, toasting glasses, christmas tree ornaments etc...You can also ship the items home UPS so if they get broken you can file a claim with them.
I usually don't put them in my suitcase, but pack them into my carry on bag...every one has made it home safely so far
