Just back from a great trip to WDW. As part of the planning I had made some ADR's; a few that required a cc guarantee. The week of our trip we finalized our plans and decided to pass on some of the ADR's. I cancelled (on line,) received my cancellation emails and thought that was the end of it. Got our credit card statement this weekend. I always look at it line by line but was reminded of how important this is when I noticed a $40.00 charge for "WDW dine tickets." I realized this was the no show fee for our family of 4 x $10.00 each. It took some doing but finally got the right department (research & billing) to follow up on this for me. The CM looked up the charge, told me what ADR it was. I was ready to give him the cancellation number but he said that wasn't necessary. He sent thru a credit of the charge & apologized for the error. So, glad the problem was resolved without any hassle, but also glad I'm in the habit of looking over my statement each month. :thumbsup2

Good catch! Thanks for the reminder to keep the cancellation emails too!

do you always receive an email from disney? I cancelled something online yesterday and never rec'd an email w/my cancel #

Had the same problem. Cancelled told no problem. It took several months. They also charge $40 for four people. The res was for two never booked for four.
Get checking look for the credit to come thru. Didn't like that we were charge then if I did not check my credit card bill I would have been paid for nothing .
Too much of problem too many phone calls never should have happened

Do only the ones with credit card required charge a no- show fee?

yes, only reservations that they require a credit card for, are the ones that they charge you for if you don't show up.

I guess it never recorded my post when I quoted this above, so I am reposting. I have changed ADRs more times than I can count (let's say 30?). I do not have all of the cancellation emails.

What should I do? Would you recommend calling the WDW Dining number before we go, and confirming with them so I know they have the same ADRs listed as I do? I guess if I called them, I could ask for the CM's name so I could remember who I spoke with when I called.

Not sure but what I'm doing is keeping a printed copy of my WDW reservations print out from the on-line "my reservations" section. Everytime I've done a cancelation or added an ADR, I go on-line to verify everything is in there. I've got a copy saved in a file so when I get home if a charge were to show up, I've got a print out from them showing what I had reservations for.

You could call WDW dining to review all your ADR's if you wanted but I like having things in print IMO easier to prove than "he said, she said" :thumbsup2

This thread is being moved to the Reservations board. On that board there is a sticky thread with a full list of credit card guarantee restaurants and the cancellation policies. There's a recommendation on that thread to always check your credit card statements, even if you do show up for the meal.

Some posters have had issues, even if they showed up for the meal. This is why it is recommended to always check your credit card statement.
