Hi all! I'm Andrea, a long time lurker off and on, but finally registered as the fantasy of our family finally planning a trip to Disney is coming to reality.
My husband and I both went to Disney once as a kid. I was about 8 so I don't remember a ton more than the tea cups and the awesome pool at the Polynesian. My mom said she was so mad that all we did was whine in the park and wanted to go back swim. Haha! DH went to the Beach Club when he was 9 and remembers a ton. It was his favorite vacation ever but they didn't do any of the extras....
When we had kids we knew we eventually would want to take them and yet I wasn't really all that excited. I figured....how much more could there be than Kings Island which we get season passes to every year and I despise going and doing the same things week after week.
Anyway, we have now started planning our trip for Sept 2013 (our kids will be 6,4, and 2 1/2) and we're beyond thrilled. I'm a planner by nature so all the reading on this board is soo much fun but I'm really getting the chance to learn why Disney is so magical now. I even saw a video on youtube last night of a family surprising their kids with the trip and it made me tear up at the dinner table! The kids will not stop watching videos about WDW and got a ton of books from the library about it and won't put them down. We're all so excited. It's a long time away but I know it'll be a blast.
So thank you for all the information and all the great posts. Its a wonderful resource for someone like me who wants to know everything!
