Hi all! Im helping my niece plan her trip as they’re taking my 3 year old great niece to Give Kids the World in a few weeks.
Not sure this is the right place to post this as she doesn’t have a disability but she is fighting brain cancer that she was diagnosed with when she was 8 months old.
The main thing I was wondering is…
Does anyone know if there is a special section for parades and fireworks viewing at MK? I know there are handicapped sections but that wouldn’t really apply here.
It’s not a Make a Wish trip, but it’s similar as they were gifted the trip from a charity in relation to Give Kids the World.
Thanks all! Any help is appreciated.

(((Hugs))) and prayers for the little one :sad1: The family should get her stroller tagged for wheelchair access. They can use the designated wheelchair area for parades and fireworks, but they would have to get there early to make sure they get a spot.

I have seen GKTW families at the VIP area ( the grassy area to the left as your looking at the castle) I would double check at GKTW or at Disney as this might have been pixie dust the family got

for parades I have seen them in the wheelchair viewing area your need to get there about 15 minute ( on none busy days) before the parade stats to be sure you get a spot

Since it is not a Wish trip I think they need to find out from GKTW what accommodations they will have access to, if any, in the parks. A DAS might apply here so worth exploring. Agree with gap2368 in getting the stroller as a wheelchair tag, that would be a huge help.

Ok I will let them know. Thanks! I’ll tell them to get the stroller tagged as wheelchair but there’s also my great nephew, who is only 9 months who might be in a separate stroller. I’m assuming the whole family can use that section (2 adults and the 2 kids)?

They get a Wish pass which I think is the same as the DAS. Yeah I’ll definitely tell them that. Thanks!

The Genie Pass is much better than DAS, so if they do get one they won't need to worry about DAS.

They just need to clarify exactly what will be provided from the organization sponsoring them. There are so many different ones, and each trip is individually planned and funded that only that group can give them specifics.

They should contact the place that granted their wish.
The special passes for kids on various Wish trips used to be issued at GKTW. Since about late 2013, the Genie/Wish passes have been issued by the sponsoring group.
