Just wondering how many of us give our computers and associated electronics names with a Disney connection?

I've got a server named Yensid, on a network named Sweep, with a router named Broom. Going to have to think of a good name for the printer.... :surfweb:

I know at the last company I was working for, before more streamlined naming conventions were developed, we had Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, and Pigpen. Our Control systems were run on two DEC Alphas named House and Senate.

:thumbsup2

They had separate responsibilities but, Senate failed all of the time. It had too many processes that bound up the system for too long. It was great at soaking up resources and not returning any good output.

I don't, but I'm about to install a new home network and RAID system and I think that's a great idea. Now, which characters to choose.....

I'll avoid commenting further on this one for fear of crossing the line on political discussions.

Probably not Dopey.

At work our printers are named after Toy Story characters :thumbsup2
We have Buzz, Hamm, Woody, Bullseye, Wheezy and Sarge. The big color printer for our graphics designers is named Luxo. We even got small figurines for those we could find that are posted on the printer to show you which is which. :lmao:

At home our wifi network is Space Mountain. :goodvibes

Love the suggestions! When we set up our house in FL, I just might adopt some of them.

I laughed at this harder than I should have.

Related to the topic, I run a Windows Home Server at my house named Mufasa... because he's the king.

At work we have a "few" apps named after Disney characters and some testing environments named after dwarves... I swear, nothing too excessive :rolleyes1

If you decide to cash it in on Windows Home Server, you should check out Amahi

...and all of my network devices at the house are named after Star Trek names.

Kirk
Spock
Sulu
computer
Number1
Number2 (my crappy old computer)
Enterprise
Reliant
Voyager
Shields (The Firewall, of course)
Communicator (PBX)

Our network name is "Happy Festivus." Our last one was "Vandelay Industries."

When I worked for a charity with lots of hand me down third or fourth hand computers, ours had Lord of the Rings names. It's amazing how naming a computer "Treebeard" made everyone a lot more patient with it (he was VERY slow)...

Our school network has printers named after biblical characters (our photocopiers were David and Goliath, which was odd, because new David was bigger than Goliath!) and one printer inexplicably called Batman!
