Giving Thanks: Turkey Day at Universal 2015 (PTR for now)

Ohhh 75 days until departure. Exciting.

My beloved father-in-law was recently hospitalized for a stroke. He spent three nights in the hospital and was then transferred to a rehab facility attached to the hospital. The docs initially told him it was going to be two weeks at the rehab facility - he was out in three days! It is nothing short of a miraculous recovery. The day after he went into the hospital was so bleak - we just had no idea how it was going to turn out. I lost my father ten years ago and to see my husband go through thinking that his dad was going to die was heartbreaking. Doc said the stroke was in part caused by the stress of losing his son Peter. So harsh.

On our previous family vacation, both my MIL & FIL were very active and involved with everything (they are super healthy people in general). We will see what happens at Universal.

So grateful he is okay.

Wow, those were some scary moments for your FIL (and your whole family)....but so happy to hear that the outcome was a positive one.

Sending prayer and good wishes for his health and strength to continue to improve as your trip grows closer!

19 days until departure.

The last three weeks have been consumed with watching my beloved Kansas City Royals win the World Series. I woke my kids up at 4 AM on Tuesday to go to the parade. We were there for 16 hours. It was one of the best days of my life.

I had waited to order lanyards and glad that I did because I ordered 15 World Series Champion lanyards yesterday for the trip.

Try to check in online with Alamo car rental yesterday but our car rentals are not eligible because they were prepaid.

My husband is working on a foldout agenda for our party. It will have the universal map on the back and are agenda of things to do along with miscellaneous items on the front. I sometimes forget the people on my trips don't know as much as me. Would like to share the wealth.

We have finished the first five Harry Potter books. I have made the decision to watch the sixth movie tonight. And then we will start Deathly Hallows book on Sunday. I don't think we will make it before the trip but I will try!!!

Called the hotel yesterday to reiterate my request for connecting rooms and also refurbished rooms. They noted the request and we will see what happens.

Glad things went ok for father in law. How awful.

Love the Grominions tee ..........you've got some lovely plans going on there.......cocoa beach is a nice beach, haven't been there for a while. We have gone to Clearwater last few beach visits, but certainly cocoa is closer than that.
