I just entered DCA and they are giving handstamps! I have never seen this, is it normal? We had just left DL and got one. I am wondering if I should go back to DL? Yikes
Although it has been very busy at the resort, and they may be concerned about hitting capacity at DLm it may be as simple as getting your hand stamped on entry allows them to eliminate cast members at the exit gates.

Entered DCA from the GCH entrance around, oh, 1pm, and yep, they made us get handstamps. We have APs, so we almost never are required to get handstamps (I can think of only one time...and that was upon *exiting* DL on the last day of the March ladies trip).
They said they'd closed DL yesterday, and were expecting massive crowds, so just in case, they were doing stamps upon entering the park.
Disneyland is nuts right now! We've been at the resort since Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday were nice and slow, but yesterday and today - nuts! Very, very, unusually crowded, Indiana Jones even has a roped line to get Fast Passes. The Fast Passes have definitely been helping so be sure to get them and..........
for those who do not know, a castmember confirmed today that fast passes can still be used even if the ticket time has expired, as long as its used within the same day they will still be accepted.
I hope so! When we used to live in LB, I always went at least 5 times each month, and every year October would be the BEST time to visit...for crowds and weather!
I was there last week, and also experienced the massive crowds at DL. Late Fri, when DCA closed, the lines to get into DL were backed up to the CA letters in front of DCA. Most of the nights (if not all.... I can't remember) they extended the park hours to stat open later and both Fri and Sat they added a third showing of F! @ 11:30pm.
We experienced this but our deal was slightly different. Both Sat & Sun they told us to get handstamps on our way out of DLR, well that's fine, we got them, not a problem. But on the way INto DCA they were stamping hands too, BUT they did NOT stop us to stamp our hands.....I don't know if was because we were already stamped or what but none of our party or the party ahead of us got stopped for stamps. And yes, it was INSANEly busy all weekend......

It's partially because of the new offerings, and partially because the Disneyland Resort now has nearly 1 million Annual Passholders, the vast majority of whom live in Southern California, and all of whom want to see the Halloween Festivities as many times as possible before it goes away.
