If you go in on a group gift and your name is on the card, do you expect that the gift be given when you are present if it means half of the people giving the gift are normally with the gift receivers one night and the other half the following night.
I arranged a group gift for my DD coaches and only about 10 out of 60 families went in on the gift (we work for them in one fashion or another). I am with them tommorrow night and planned to take the gift in then as they can open it at the end of practice when most people have gone home since not everyone went in on the gift, but the next night the rest of the people will be there to see it.
If I took it in on the next night, we leave 45min before the end of practice, so they would have to stop practice to open it, and others that did not go in on the gift will be there and have to have practice stopped.
One person is insisting that me taking it in tommorrow night will make it look like it is coming from an individual and not the group since I am taking it in, but her idea is to give it at the team xmas party in Jan that I will not be attending since I am working, but she will make sure to give it to them.
I am just tempted to take it in, leave it in the office with a note to open when everyone is gone. That way no one is there to see them open it.
