We'll be in the World 11/13-11/18 (me, hubby 2dds 10 and 5). we're staying at AKL concierge. So far we have ressies for California Grill dinner, Boma dinner and Crystal Palace breakfast. Made plans too late for princesses (and the kids have been to both the castle and epcot breakfasts before). We plan to hit every major park and eat at the Food and wine festival. We generally do not do counter service meals. So...does anyone have any recomendations for us to try other places during our trip. (I was thinking maybe flying fish-we like that but maybe we should try something new?) I think I have about 5 lunch slots (shouls be in parks probably) and 4 dinner slots open.

Everyone has their favorites, and my family's and mine are Brown Derby at MGM (we usually do lunch there), and Alfredo's at Epcot. However, it'll be tough choices at Epcot w/F&W festival. (So much food, so little time!):earsboy: :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc

We always like 50's Prime Time. Also Sci Fi was fun for lunch.
Definately eat at Jiko's - you may want to have the kids go to Simba's Club while you and DH enjoy your meal. It would be OK for kids - just check the menu at www.wdwig.com to see if your kids would like it - but don't miss Jiko while at AKL. ::yes:: ::yes::
We enjoyed LTT at MK, and 1900 Park Fare at GF. Your girls might like this one - buffet was very good.
We also had a great meal at Spoodles last time. You'll enjoy walking the Boardwalk before or after.
Enjoy!

If you 'll be in Epcot - Yakatori House is a great place for lunch. Nice location, and simple oriental food. Ckeck out the Koi fish in the gardens.

We really liked 50's Primetime Cafe. Food is good, service is good and the atmosphere is sooo much fun! You should also consider Biergarten at Germany. They usually have a German band play and invite people to come down to dance. My DDs love it. The food is good and there is a large variety from German Favorites to American varieties. Chef Mickeys is also a fun place to eat! Lots of partying and characters!

thank you all so much for your ideas. we will have to try as many as we can fit in.

My favorites include:

Crystal Palace breakfast
Chef Mickey's breakfast
Rainforest Cafe lunch/dinner
50's Prime Time lunch/dinner
Mama Melrose - dinner
Wolfgang Puck - dinner

DH and I are not very adventurous so we normally stick with restaurants we know we like and that have simple menus. This trip we are trying a few new ones because we will be there with my whole family. We are also going to try:

Donald's - breakfast
1900 Park Fare - dinner
Yachtsman - dinner
Fulton's - dinner
San Angel - lunch (dinner seems too "authentic" for our liking)

I have to second the Prime Time Cafe votes - plus the Biergarten, both are fantastic for the ambiance and show for kids, and the food is generally good as well. We all liked them. We LOVED O'Hanas, and I would also highly recommend it. The food is top notch, and the coconut races and atmosphere are not to be beat.

We also had great meal at Fulton's Crab House at DD.

Have a blast!

On my Must Do list:

50's Prime Time Cafe -- usually do lunch here. The portions are huge. Gotta get a S'more for dessert.

Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco) -- YUM!

LeCellier -- wonderful.

Cape May Buffet (breakfast) -- terrific!

Chef Mickeys -- my DW loves this place; I can take it or leave it (preferably the latter).

restaurants at Disney are Alfredo's and 50's Prime Time Cafe. We also LOVE Whispering Canyon at the WL and the Cape May Cafe Clam bake. LTT is great at WDW too. I like Marakesh, but hubby doesn't care for it (in spite of the belly dancer);)

If you are going on an adult night, Jellyrolls is also a blast!

50s Prime Time and Sci Fi are always on our "must do" lists! They are a lot of fun and have that very unique "Disney only" atmosphere...
Have fun!

We've been to WDW 3 times and try to do new restaurants each time we go, but there are three that we have to do every time:

Le Cellier - Lunch
50's Prime Time - Lunch
Liberty Tree Tavern - Character dinner

A new discovery on our last trip that is now a must-do for us is Hoop Dee Doo Revue! We laughed so hard!

we have to add Ohana to our must do list. The food was excellent and the entertainment for the kids was really cute. We all had a blast from Grandma to the 18 month old. We also had an really good view of the castle from our table. I wish I had checked the fireworks schedule because we shold have lingered a little over dessert and we would have had a wonderful view!
:earsgirl:

My children's favorite park restaurant is Teppanyaki -- we always do lunch. We also all like Marrakesh. Our favorite at MGM is Prime Time Cafe.

We loved Whispering Canyon for dinner on our last trip -- so much fun for a family there (and that lodge is GORGEOUS). Just take a boat from MK and escape for a while! Our other faves are SciFi, Teppanyaki, and Chef Mickey's. We really enjoyed Garden Grille in Epcot, too -- we went for dinner and had lots and LOTS of personal character time. DH loved the skillets, and the kids liked the themed dirt dessert.

Ooooh, I'm getting hungry now just thinking about Disney Food! Somebody mail me a turkey leg.... :)

I am not sure if your family is really big eaters but we made a meal out of all the foods around the F&W festival. I certainly wouldn't have been able to enjoy all the foods from the countries if I had eaten a sit down lunch and dinner. Maybe you should consider snacking around the F&W as one of your meals. I know I was stuffed on the multitude of food choices.
