Ok I have been to DW more times in my life than I can remember, but always with family and sons who are now grown. I am headed down there early FEB and will be there a few days before meeting my brother and his family so I want to take advantage of the days alone and it's the first time I will be solo and I'm sooo excited.
I want to try table service restaurants that I have never tried before. I am interested in information on the following that i have never tried: Coral Reef, Artists Point, the Wave. What is the best thing to order at these 3 places? I love LeCellier, Kona and others and already have reservations. Mainly interested in Coral Reef , Artists Point and the Wave . I don't mind eating alone. One can really appreciate the food more when Im not worried about everyone else traveling with me, lol.
Thanks so much!

My 2 cents worth:

Coral Reef, going down hill over the last few years. Very, very loud, and the food is only so so.

Artist's Point, dining outside the view was very nice. We had a table that looked over the pool area. Food was good, but not as good as othe Disney meals. I would rather have dined at the YSH.

Wave, food was okay. We had lunch there. As I remember, the deserts were delicious and the beer flight was awesome, but the lunch we had was good, not spectacular.

As always, you experience may vary. We did all the above on the Deluxe Dining plan, so money was no object when it came to making selections as Walt was already waaaaaay into our wallets.

Good luck, did I wish we would have dined elsewhere, probably not. We are always looking for new dining at the World.

I have not eaten at Artists Point or the Wave, so can't speak to those, but I had a most enjoyable meal at the Coral Reef last May. I had the blackened catfish with pepperjack cheese grits. It was really, really delicious. I'd read all the reports about how insane the place can get, but I found that was not the case at noon. It wasn't busy at all, so I was really able to enjoy it. I recommend not sitting next to the aquarium, just in case there are kids who go running up to the glass. You actually get a really nice view from the center of the room without having to worry about people encroaching on your space.

I have eaten at Artist Point on my last two trips (7/09 and 12/09) The first time I had beef and it was moist and delicious with a wonderful sauce. My BF had buffalo, this last trip...I had to have the buffalo- it was the most amazing meat and sauce combo I have ever tasted!

I've eaten at the Wave and Coral Reef and truly loved them both. The food was delicious. I had a steak and potatoes at the Wave. The steak was cooked just right and the potatoes were the best I had. I don't remember what my entree was at Coral Reef, but the crab cake appetizer was really good and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Hope this helps. Have fun no matter where you choose. :)

Coral Reef: Excellent service and have to get the lobster bisque.

Artist Point: Excellent service and as stated before buffalo can't be beat.

The Wave: Went for lunch and was not impressed. Service was mediocre at best. Wife's cheeseburger was over cooked and my tuna salad was o.k.

I can only comment on Artist Point, and must ditto the previous posters - the buffalo is to die for. A close second is the Cedar Plank Salmon, also very very very delicious. If you're into wine pairings, they do a really nice job with that as well, featuring all wines from the Pacific Northwest. We just love that restaurant - it is the one restaurant that my husband and I HAVE TO eat at on every trip.

We ate at the Artist Point twice over our long weekend in Dec. We are planning on going again in Feb too and can't wait. If you like mushrooms at all then you should really try the mushroom soup. It is spectacular!! I had the buffalo also and thought it was excellent. I would ask for the berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream rather than the ice cream with alcohol. The second time we split the different sides so we could try them. The white truffle fries were very good, but I don't think I could eat them by myself.

We had the same waitress both times and she remembered what we liked. I can not say enough good things about her! I really hope we get her again!
