So I'm going to DL in a few weeks. What are your tips for both parks? I haven't been there for quite a few years and am a fish out of water when it comes to DL.

Any suggestions?

Ohh, so many tips.

I think my most important one is to have fun and enjoy it. It's not a race and take it all in. Take pictures, we like to see them and they are nice to look back and reminice. Finally, drink plenty of water. Even if it's cold, you'll need to stay hydrated.

How many days are you going for? Will you be getting a park hopper? Where are you staying? What do you want to see?

Definately take advantage of Fast Pass, and remember you can use them anytime after the initial time frame printed on the FP.
This was definately the most useful thing for me on my last visit!
And don't rush, take time out of the day to just enjoy the atmosphere. :)

Don't let the construction at DCA interfere with your experience. Some people who have gone recently were really upset with the amount of work going on in that park, but it is nicely covered up and didn't take away from my experience one bit.

Have fun :)

I'm spending one day at each park. I really want to see WOC!

Since you time is short, I would look into doing a dinner package or picnic meal to get the tickets called Fast Passes for WoC.

You might even consider getting a park hopper to maximize your time. DL usually is open and close a little earlier and later. In effect you could get the opening and closing of each park both days.

I agree with Goofy Mom to drink lots of water. Get your WOC fastpasses first thing on the day you want to see it - and then sit in the wet zone. You don't really get wet, just a mist (unless it is windy lol). That zone has a great view. My favorite souvenir is the silhouettes on Main Street - a timeless classic. Make sure to use the fastpasses throughout the park, and get Space Mountain and Indy first since they can "sell" out. Most of all, have fun and take lots of pictures!

Yes, don't limit yourself to one park per day. You should plan to park hop both days. The 2 parks are SO close to each other. You can easily see the gate of one while standing at the gate to the other.

My biggest tip is to get there when the park opens. The first few hours are great before the big crowds start to show up so take advantage of it.

I agree about getting the Park Hopper, rather than one park each day. You may find that Disneyland is too crowded and want to escape to California Adventure for some relief. Or you may find that there is not enough to do in California Adventure for one day and you'd like to go back to Disneyland and hit some more things. The Park Hopper allows you to be more flexible and maximize your time, as skiingfast said.

Also, it sounds like you will be at DLR right smack dab in the middle of the holiday season. Make sure you check out the beautiful It's a Small World Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday. Enjoy the 'snow' falling on Main Street at night. Take some time to get photos with Santa at the Reindeer Round-Up. Perhaps sit in the lobby of the GCH with a beverage or treat and watch carolers perform by the tree. Ride the Storybook Land Canal Boats and see the tiny holiday decorations on the mini cottages. Take a photo in front of the stunning nighttime Winter Castle, draped in 'icicles.' Grab some peppermint goodies at one of the bake shops or candy stores - or peppermint ice cream at Gibson Girl.

It is a glorious time of year to be at DLR, and you will have lots of things to do!

I agree with what others have mentioned on the boards already. Park hopping is so easy! Get to DL when it opens, and I would suggest to hit Fantasyland and ride those first because it seems those lines are always long. Check out a few sites to see what rides may be closed when you are there, where the special treats are you want to try, and know what you can't see on this trip, gives you great reasons to plan for another trip!:lmao: Have a wonderful time and take plenty of pictures.

hi, you didn't say if DCA was there the last time you where at dlr. so i'll just jump in with my favorite suggestion. wdw and dlr are differant. not better or worse. take pics of rides and attractions. then when your home you can really see the differance when you compare your wdw to dlr photos. i.e. like wdw indy jones is a show dlr its a ride. its a small world looks totally diff. between the two. have fun

Yes, I've been to DCA. My last trip was about 5 years ago. I've only been to DL twice before, this will be my third. I'm no expert at all where DL is concerned. WDW is another story, I've been there over 30 times!

I will definitely try the peppermint ice cream! Thanks for the heads up! I will have to price the hopper passes and see if it fits into my budget.

Thanks for the suggestions, I know where to go to get the best advice!
