Hello everyone,
Heading out to DL last weekend of July for three days (Sat, Sun and Mon in the parks). I just booked a dinner seating for Blue Bayou at 5:30 on Monday, but what else should I not miss? Where else should we eat and not eat, in both parks and DTD? Any tips?
I'm like a fish out of water here, leaving my comforts of WDW where I know all the ins and outs!

As much as I love the DIS, you might want to try the boards on laughingplace.com for more active DL boards.

Thanks! Got the posts up there too.

Hi good first move dinner at the Blue Bayou always good. Other dining bf at the carnation place on main st, taste pilot's grill in California adventure pretty good burgers, rainforest in downtown disney. Out of the park on harbour resturant called Mimi's near the Hojo hotel we really like just a short walk from DL nice for a change they do BF, L and D. DO NOT MISS the electric light parade in the CAl Adv. Rides CA do soaring over California, California screaming roller coaster. TOT basically same as WDW little different theming, grizzley river (my opinion better than the Kali river in WDW) In DL Indiana jones, matterhorn and if you are going after July 17th new space mountain will be open. Have fun :cool1:

Bengal BBQ across from Indiana Jones (Skewers not traditional BBQ) and the little counter that sells gumbo breadbowls under the Disney Gallery are my personal favorites.

A sit down place that is good is the Pizza Port *I think that is what it is called* in Tomorrowland. It is Pizza, pasta and salads.

DL doesn't offer nearly as many dining options as WDW. There's some duplication in the offerings (Rainforest Cafe, House of Blues, ESPN Zone). What do you particularly love at WDW? It may help DL experts guide you.

First off, we had our reception dinner for our Disney wedding at California Grill, so that is one of our favorites. We love Boma, Artist Point and Beaches and Cream (for the desserts!). As far as other counter service, my husband likes Flame Tree mostly, I like El Pirata, and we generally like to try the different countries in World Showcase in Epcot. I would almost say, based on this list, non-traditional park food (I can get a hamburger anywhere, but we do usually end up eating quite a few throughout our trip).

The DIS has a list of the Disneyland Resort Restaurants with a brief description. Hopefully, this will get you started:

Disneyland Resort Dining

My favorites are Storyteller Cafe, Jazz Kitchen, Hooks Pointe, Tortilla Jos, Blue Bayou @ DL, French Market, Rancho del Zocalo, Bengal Barbecue.

My dd's favorites include Plaza Inn, Hungry Bear Restaurant (she likes sitting next to the Rivers of America), and Pizza Port.

My ds's favorites include French Market and Storyteller Cafe.

Enjoy :)
