I love to put out my mums this time of year, but I heard of a different way to display them. Has anyone ever done this? You take a pumpkin, hollow it out, cut a drainage hole or two near the bottom, spray the inside with Wilt Pruf, and plant your fall color right into it! I've used pumpkins as vases for cut flowers before, but have never used them as planters. I have to try this! I was thinking of some red swiss chard, 'Goldilocks' lysimachia, a deep purple aster, and a white or gold mum.
What do you do that's unique to decorate for the fall?
