I have read such bad reviews of the luau. Wanted hoop dee doo on ddp. All they had was the luau cat3 for the night I wanted for ddp. Is it really bad? Would a 4 year old enjoy it or is this one were better off skipping? And if the food is mediocre, is the show at least fun? I booked it but can always cancel.

I'm a fan. It's not a "must do" and I don't go on every trip, but it is a fun night out. The food is better than mediocre, but not great.

The show is hokey at points, but rather entertaining. As long as your 4 YO wont be scared by a couple of fire jugglers I say go for it. It's definitely something to experience at least once.

We loved the luau. We had a family reunion and that was one of the activities that we planned. We had a 3 year old, a 5 year old, and my son who was only 2.5yrs at the time and he loved it. The food was fine and the show was fun. I particularly enjoyed the "mystery merlot" that came with the meal.

I hope you enjoy it.

We loved the luau. It is fun..it is not authentic it is more like cheesy beach comedy (think gidget) meets luau. I thought the food was fine and better than chef mickeys for sure and the drinks were yummy. We really really like the fire guy. It is not a must have but it was a good show and everybody in my family was pleased. We would go again.

We've always had a great time at the luau. The food is decent, and the show and setting are fun. Have a good time!

On our June trip, we did both the Luau and Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I was so worried about the Luau after reading the poor reviews, but we enjoyed it overall. In our opinion, we preferred the FOOD at the Luau and the ENTERTAINMENT at Hoop Dee Doo.

We had excellent service at the luau, our drinks were never less than half full, and our kids were offered a box meal in addition to the regular food offerings. Our seats were okay (cat. 2), definitely could have been worse. The only negative for us was that the show seemed long...both kids fell asleep at the table, we had to wake them up so they could walk out!

Enjoy,
Jennifer

We love the Luau! We go at least every other year. Food is pretty good, not 5 star, but not as mediocre as say Crystal Palace or Hollywood and Vine. The salad is delish and the pineapple bread is too.

The show is great aand there is a point where your kids can go onstage and participate. i say for sure give it a try. It may end up being a favorite, you never know!

We love Hoop De Doo also!

We loved it! I think the show is silly, but very entertaining and the food is decent, too. All in all, it was a great Disney-esque experience! I think you'll have fun. :thumbsup2
