Just found out I will be in Orlando for business 3/22-26. Bringing the fam w/ me of course. Budget is very tight so no WDW trip planned this year but now we have free hotel and my meals are paid for. If we did one of the services on the give a day program will we get our vouchers/tickets in time?

Yes. I got my vouchers just days after my spondor turned in that we had done our work. They email them to you and you print them off.

There is an entire subforum at Theme Park Attractions and Strategies on the GAD program.

It would depend on how quickly you get in to volunteer, and how quickly they turn your info in. I wouldn't choose something right before you go, just in case the organization is slow at confirming your participation. I had my email with my voucher about 5 days after I did my service.

We are still waiting for our vouchers---3 weeks now. We did not get verified in the time span allowed, so I received a heckling email telling me we had not kept our commitment. This was after I called for assistance. I don't mind doing the service (we do a lot anyway), but the heckling email after completeing the project, calling for assistance, following the directions I was given is a bit much. Be very careful which organization you choose, see if you can get positive feedback from someone on the forum. I think some of the smaller organizations are just overwhelmed.

Do the linus blanket project. Just pick a small town that is offering this and it will go a lot quicker. Less than a week and I printed the tickets off yesterday. Worked great no problems. Sign up, make the blanket, ship it priority mail $10 total 4 blankets-get confirmed wait 3 days and print the tickets. If you don't know of a small town send a message to me and I will help you locate our local project group doing this.

We did the food bank on Tuesday and today we received our vouchers, so that is 3 days  we are going in April.

Can someone please explian project linus to me? Read up on this and found this to be very near and dear to my heart...OK I WILL ADMIT THAT I'M 30 YEARS OLD AND STILL SLEEP W/ MY BLANKIE :cloud9:

It's my security blanket and it goes everywhere w/ me even to Disney. ;) So I've looked up the no sew fleece blankets (can't sew or knit/crochet) It seems really easy like get a piece of fleeze tie some knots and turn it in w/ pics. Is this all you have to do? Doesn't really seem like 8 hours worth of volunteering. Each family member would have to make 2 blankets. Am I reading this right? Is this what you do? :confused3

OP, my family did Habitat for Humanity and got our ticket link in just 1 week. I def. recc. you volunteering. Hope you have a good experience and fast turn around time too :goodvibes

That's the gist of it :) Depending what size blanket you make it can take a bit of time...between cutting and tieing knots. But I would have to say probably not 8 hours. I usually sit down at night watching TV and do them...might as well be productive while sitting there :happytv:

We picked up trash after a Mardi Gras parade in Slidell, LA last Sunday. Our vouchers arrived the following Thursday. I think everyone or almost everyone picking up trash that day was doing it for the GAD ticket. :rotfl2:
