The Give A Day, Get A Disney Day Program has ended on December 15, 2010. Any unused vouchers are void and have no value.

Anyone else but me wait until the last day to use it? I was planningto go the 13th, but it was freezing out- then the 14th was a little warmer, but still too cold. So, had to go on the 15th no matter what the weather!!!
Had a great day at Epcot. Saw the Candlelight Processional twice. Went by myself and had a great time just leisurely going through the park on my own pace!!! Loved it!!!

woohoo! we were there that day too, used it on the 15th at Epcot, was the best 'free day' ever! the guy at the booth had to go get one more pass, he only had 3 left and we needed 4! plus we got the cute muppet buttons......

Hey, we were also there that day, applied the free day to an annual pass, what a great program.

Sounds like there were a number of us "last minute" users! We each had one certificate, and on Monday and Wednesday, on the busride over to DHS, we struck up a conversation with a family and once off the bus, told them that if they'd accompany us to the Will Call booth with their tickets, we would be pleased to share our good fortune with them..... we helped some families have a REALLY great time at the Studios those days!!

Just for a bit of added pixie dust, we'd tried to get the fast passes for another ride at the Studios' Voyage of the Little Mermaid.... but the machine wasn't working right. A cast member came up and offered to help, I explained that we'd experienced this attraction already, but wanted to give the fast passes away to a family that hadn't..... He promptly pulled out 6 fast passes for TSM out of his pocket, and said "these appear to be viewed as MUCH more desired"...... we walked up to TSM, and saw a family of 4 that had really sad faces when they saw the FP were all gone.... I said "hey, it's your lucky day!"

:goodvibes

We went the last day as well. Used our GAD to upgrade to annual passes, which we have already put to great use last week!
We went to DHS where my daughter did the American Idol Experience. She made it to the final round and was so excited. What a fun experience! In a way I am glad it was a GAD ticket, because as people have said many times before, the AIE will take up your entire day, but luckily we had planned for that. I am thankful Disney gave us this great opportunity!

You know, I signed up for that promotion and never heard anything about it as far as things in our area that I could do. I am not sure what happened. Glad that y'all got to take advantage of it though!

You had to check out the site - they didn't send anything to you. In some areas, those opportunities may have been quite limited. And the volunteer part of the program ended a lot sooner than people anticipated.

That really stinks, my daughters didnt get to use their free day ticket. We're going at the end of June, and I was kind of hoping that Disney would still honor the certificate for the free day ticket.

It was very clearly stated that all vouchers had to be redeemed by December 15th. Even if they did it again, there would be no expectation that old vouchers would still be honored.

Well silly me, I guess I kinda hoped they might make some exceptions considering people did volunteer work for good causes. My kids couldn't get themselves to WDW on their own, so they had to wait for mom and dad to bring them. They can do whatever they want, even if it is "clearly stated" on the certificate. Just like it's a unadvertised fact that they do not penalize a child for growing older and will upgrade an unused child's ticket to an adult ticket once the child is over the age of 10 or whatever the adult age is.

At least I have the satisfaction of knowing my kids did something to help someone else and that is why they earned that certificate, it just kinda stinks they would put an expiration date on it, especially when it's not like the certificates could be given away to someone else to use, an id was required when the certificate was redeemed.:sad2:

You can always being the vouchers and ask...but more than likely they won't even have access to the information any longer and won't be able to issue a ticket. They were very particular on this and it appears they wanted to make sure all such tickets were used by the end of the year.

A purchased ticket is a different beast entirely. The GAD vouchers themselves have no value until they are activated, and they can't be activated any more.

And they don't give a free upgrade on an unused child's ticket. If it is unused, it isn't tied to an individual, and if it is to be used by an adult, it needs to be upgraded for the difference in purchase price to the current price of the appropriate adult ticket.

If the ticket was used by the child, and they are now an adult, the ticket will be upgraded at no cost for the remaining entitlements (presuming it was a no-expire ticket).

Yes, they could be given away. Disney gave you the option, up to the expiration date, of donating the voucher.:thumbsup2
