My family did ours and mailed them out already. We had to make two blankets per person and some other chapters only require one. My sister would like to do some too but none come up in her area to volunteer. Does anyone know which ones only require one blanket per volunteer? Her budget is tight , and would like to do one if possible. If not, I will just send her some material and help that way.
thanks in advance!

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the one that's in the Walt Disney area (when you put it in search) only require one? That's the one we signed up for, and I think it was just one each. You can check it to see. I'm not planning on starting on ours until next month (too busy with work right now).

Where is she located??? I know there are at least two in Michigan that only required one blanket.

The Wheaton/Winfield IL chapter only requires 1 but they're not accepting new volunteers at present and they must be dropped off, not mailed.

I was going to make blankets for my DH and DD so we could get the Fast Passes. How much does the material cost to make one no-sew fleece blanket?

We made fleece blankets - 1 per person & mailed them through the Project Linus National Headquarters in Normal, IL.
I found it by searching: Iowa City, IO (I know it is incorrect but it worked!)

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

The fleece cost about $12.00 for 1.5 yards at Walmart. Ours turned out really cute. Lots that only require one just keep looking.

My local requires 6 per person, which seems a little high. But I am doing it anyway. It is fun selecting the fabric, so many options. I am glad they will go to local families. ( I think ??)

Good cause, my daughter got one while in the hospital.

That actually sounds very fun, and so nice to give blankets to kids in hospitals (my nephew also received one when he was in the nicu born at less than two pounds).

I put in that zip code, and it was on the first page! I hope to make some really nice ones - they said they have to be twin size, I need to recheck, but also need to check how to make them nicely.

Thanks everyone!

I'm crocheting mine and got some fleece for my DH to do his..it was about $7.00 (as was the yarn for the blanket)..really cute fleece! Kid Pirate themed, and the pattern he'll use is a no sew one. I'm really enjoying this..I crochet sweaters already for the Guideposts program, but will definately add Project Linus to my projects.

Really!! Wow..mine is little kid size, about 30x36.

Our 'local' asks for three fleece (or two crochet or quilt) per person. I can get the fabric on sale, but to do the 6 we need at 45 x 60, the cost is close to $75.00. Also our chapter is not in driving distance so I have to ship them. We decided that we'd only do this if we could take advantage of the actual tickets later in the year (we were going to get the fastpasses for our upcoming trip on APs).

if you pick a pattern that is on sale or use a coupon you should be able to get 1.5yds for under $10.

Thanks everyone! I thought it would be about $10 but the OP made me scared that her sister couldn't afford to buy fabric I was thinking it was going to be a lot more. Since the price of the fabric is so low maybe the OP can send her sister $20 for the fabric. It sounds like she would spend a lot more than that buying the fabric and then sending it to her.

We did the double fleece blankets and needed 1.5 yards for each side, so 3 yards a blanket. We made 3 blankets and our total for supplies came so $60. We did buy clearance fleece or fleece that was on sale. We also bought a pair of fabric sheers for about $6 after coupon since we didn't have one. It cost me $11 to mail the 3 blankets (we went through the NH chapter).

I did think it was a bit pricey, especially if you can only get the FP's. We didn't have many opportunities in our area...but we did think making the blankets was fun!

OK, just to get this straight, cause I'd love to make blankets for project linus. A blanket can be "donated" to any of the Project Linus chapters and as long as you register first on the Disney website, they'll accept it for the Disney Day??? And one more time, how did you guys find the right chapter that accepts only one per???? Thanks again
